At least some fun stuff came out of the whole thing. With Darth Vader running for Ukrainian president. Im not even joking: http://www.theguardian.com/world/2014/mar/31/ukraine-darth-vader-president-internet-party
The Russkies have no damn right to annex Crimea. What the hell is Putin's major malfunction? I don't care what kind of authority Russia thinks it has in Ukraine, they can't push around an independent nation like that. Well, they can, but there's no way in hell one can go about doing so with a clear conscious.
Since stuff is still going down there and world war three is only a month out if history repeats itself. (World war 1 started in june of 1914). This thread is still relevant. Maybe america will be the one that gets its face kicked in this time, then it drops out and undergoes a major revolution, if that happens to russia again then i'd probably have to shoot myself.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crimean_status_referendum,_2014 Almost 97% voted to join Russia. I wonder why?
Spark.. Please don't say that America is going to lose a world war without a doubt.. Maybe Obama will be kicked out during a major world war and another decent leader can take his place. And to me.... Everyone has hated America since Vietnam... Before that they saw us as a symbol of freedom, progress and industry. And I also believe that Russia has no right to annex the part of another nation in Europe,
Wintermute I see that patriotism in Ukraine is at an all time low. But what do you expect from a nation that's almost identical to Russia in language and culture. I guess those ethnic Russians would rather see themselves as just that instead of as Ukrainians. I'm all about having pride in one's heritage, but Jesus Christ, isn't this a bit much? At any rate, even a lot of Ukrainians support Russia's actions, Russia still forced itself upon Crimea, which, in principle, just ain't right. - - Auto Merge - - It's a real possibility. I'm a patriot, don't get me wrong, but the US Military is not prepared to deal with large scale warfare. They've spent too much time and money on training their troops in counter guerrilla tactics, so this will warrant a major shift in strategy. Plus, the US Military utilizes some pretty high tech toys, a lot of which couldn't be mass produced on such a scale as the simple stuff they had back in World Wars 1 and 2. But if you want to talk about history repeating itself, Sparkypony, then the United States will likely overcome and adapt to the extreme adversity it will face in the event of war with Russia. We've done it time and time again.
