For the last two weeks, every time I try to log out of the site, I've been getting a "502 Bad Gateway" message. The only way that I can log off is to close Firefox, which is something I'd rather not have to do very often because reasons. It hasn't been much of a problem, other than making me appear online when I'm not, which may be causing some issues with the people waiting for RP responses.
Sometimes this happens to me as well, quite frequently at times. If I clear browser cookies it goes away at least for awhile. Not too sure of the cause. Been trying to figure it out.
Well it is and it isn't. This error has something to do with the server mis-handling the logout request (of which I can't determine at this time). The solution I provided is only temporary, to get you logged out (especially if you were on a public machine). Basically, if you do accept cookies, clearing them forces a logout ie: the site "forgets" you. If your browser isn't set to accept cookies you're just tied to a single session (remember me doesn't work, you're logged out when you close browser or tab, etc). So no, the cookies themselves are not necessarily the problem, but what I stated in the above post is the way you normally can force a logout implying you accept cookies in the first place. Since you are not accepting cookies, you don't really need to use the logout button at all, closing the tab should clear your session. Then when you re-type everypony.com into a new tab you should not appear logged in. Note: You will continue to appear online for the next 30-ish minutes until vBulletin clears your session.
