Lately I've been thinking that maybe I'm not a brony. I love it, don't get me wrong, and I want to be a brony. I love the community, the art that comes from the community, and everything else. EXCEPT. I don't watch the show. I want to, but whenever I think about it, I shrug it off. I've only watched about 20 episodes of season one, and I've been a brony for about 5 months. I want to be a part of this wonderful fandom, but I'm not sure I fit in. Am I just like one of those people in VinylScratchDJPony's videos that says they love the wubs but not the show? I'll go in my house and sit down to watch the show and get all excited, but then wuss out of whatever I'm doing. I've come to you guys before and you haven't let me down, so I'm trusting you. I want to be a brony, so don't say, "Don't force yourself," or whatever. I just want to know whether I'm counted in the brony census or whatever or if I need to watch the show more.
You don't have to watch it religiously to participate in the community. There's no checklist of things required for membership. It's up to you to decide if you're a brony or not.
The title of the thread bothers me. Wannabe is typically only one word. Anyways, I don't really watch the show. I watch the premieres and finales, but that's pretty much it. I still refuse to watch Alicorn Twilight because it's a musical. So... I'm not sure what I am. Ask someone else.
Untrue. When it comes to slang, "wanna be" can also be used. He could either (a) have intended to write "Wannabe Brony?" to imply that he is a wannabe brony or (b) have intended on writing "Wanna be a Brony?" to assert that he desires to be a Brony. You can still watch the show and not be a Brony it's only if you really really like the show enough to call and consider yourself a fan to the point where you look at fan art, read fanfiction and listen to fan made music where you can say or decide if you're a Brony or not but you can still watch and like the show alot and not be a fan.
