From EQD: Apparently Ponyarchive now has an exploited redirect embedded in the site. Do not go to it! I'm not sure if it had the exploit when we all went to see the "message to Hasbro", but for security purposes I would advise everyone who viewed the site after its closing to scan their computers with an antivirus/antimalware program. Once again they have gone to far and have probably infected hundreds of PC's UGH!! Edit/Update: You have to stay on Ponyarchive.eu for 15 seconds for the exploit to activate. It will redirect you to a virus/troll site, which will play a flash video, and will activate a "clickbomb" exploit, making it impossible to close the window.
well, seems like admins didn't get hint from rest of community to renew their brony values... way they act, I don't feel so sorry for them anymore (even tough ponyarchive was my main source of pony episodes, but I'll manage)
I'm glad I didn't stay on the site long enough to get that virus. They really have gone too far now. By the time you read the message, boom your stuck on an exploit website. Ugh what is wrong with them.
This, yeah, read it on Equestria daily earlier today, I should probably have warned you guys. This is not good for the fandom's reputation.
i love messing with them, i'm gonna go on their website with Linux and Sandbox activated (sandbox is an antivirus feature that isolates the browser to a virtual computer, if there is a virus it will infect the virtual computer, not your own.)
Sure thing! The site should just be removed. I hope it does. It has no purpose now but to trap and infect unsuspecting viewers...
That's very... pathetic. They're attacking the fandom, rather than Hasbro, doing this. It will only damage our (already) rocky reputation. We really don't need anything intentionally negative hanging over us right now--not when things have been going so well. This is especially terrible due to the fact that Christmas is just a few days away. Seriously, Ponyarchive. We're disappointed.
They're acting like children that don't get there way... All this is doing is making them look worse, and the image they put up in the first place wasn't very smart either...
Oh well. Ponyarchive will eventually just die out. They're a bunch of parasprites who will only be remembered as trolls, and haters. Good riddance. I'm glad no one here fell for the attack and hopefully there weren't a lot that did.
It's not really a virus, just redirects you to a video that requires a ton of brain bleach to get that out of your head... Anyways, thank Celestia that I have No Script. Lolol.
YES NoScript saved me as well. :derpe: And I'll edit my post, its an exploit, but regardless its nasty and should be avoided! And I don't even want to know what the flash is. Nor do I even want to chance visiting the site. (wish I had virtual machine)
And then I was Hackintosh. But I wasn't using it. And then I was a PC. And then NoScript was like: Lol no.
XD why does it seem like I'm the only one who adores Avast? for real, all of my friends on steam or internet say that avast sucks, but then they went to the pony archive they were effected by the click bomb, i went on and my avast blocked it immediately.
