Virginia Beach, October 1st, 1923. The large black and white tent stood upon a field of grass, several other tents scattered around. A carousel, a Ferris wheel. A carnival of fair proportions. The afternoon was dark under a sky of deep grey. The light trickle of rain was merely a distant and whispering echo of the torrent that was to come later that night. The gigantic man was outside, simply staring at the people riding on the rides from a distance. His great rubber boots sank in slightly into the moist ground under his great weight. He made no noise whatsoever, merely stood inhumanely still, like a statue of some strange being. The lens of the gas mask that adorned his face reflected the light coming from the activity, the giant looking. Suddenly he moved, a long and hard exhaling coming from beneath that eerie mask. He ducked into a somewhat large tent, made of a thick, black material. It was his. The dolls and manikins were everywhere, broken, mutilated, aged, dirtied. He sat on the worn out bed, and simply sat, looking towards a broken mirror on the other side of his tent...
-Verkoffen was inside of his trailer/office, working on his secret project behind the Ringmaster's back- (Verkoffen) *checks outside for the Ringmaster* Okay good, Herr Tophat isn't close. *keeps working*
Omega treaded through the forest, wearing a black hooded robe with a black metal mask, just to cover his true appearance. He looked up to the sky, seeing of how dark it was dead. He sighed, recently he's been rather... bored...
Mary was out and about on the carnival grounds, entertaining the most of the guests with simple card tricks and the occasional coin trick for the kids. While most people viewed her as some poor boy looking, giving the occasional quarter or two, she gleefully knicked a wallet or two from either the unimpressed or the snooty rich. After an hour or so and 50 stolen dollars hidden under her cap, she scurried back to the performers area of the main tent, counting out all the cash she's earned so far.
The Ringmaster was inside his bathroom, throwing water onto his face as he looked at himself in the mirror. The gold reptilian like eyes almost glowing at their own reflection. It was the only way that he could feel alive recently, walking and feeling like death itself prior. Not that he minded anyway, he was no stranger to the concept. His hair dripped from the icy cold water and he couldn't help but smile.
Dark sits in his cage, staring out at the people gawking at him. His ear flicks as he hears people... Laughing. They always did that. If they got too close, he would bite... And then they would scream. He liked the screams.
After bit more card and theft, Mary strolled over over the peanut booth before heading over the "Dark's" cage. Pushing through the crowd, she watched as most of the on lookers kept their distance. She pushed through the last layer of people and into the space between them and cage, tossing a peanut into the cage at Dark. "Oi, Ughs, you want some peanuts?"
The catboy stares at the peanut for a few seconds, then cracks it open. He sniffs the nuts, then eats them, as well as the flaky layer of covering usually found in peanuts. He licks his lips, tossing the empty shell back.
"I'll take that as a 'yes'." Mary said as walked up to the cage, stick her hand inside and offering the whole bag. "Here, take'em. Not a big fan of peanuts anyways."
Shrugging as the freak took the peanuts, she turned back see the crowd with shocked expressions all around. "What?" she questioned pushing back through the main carnival grounds. "Never seen peanuts before?"
Dark starts to eat the peanuts, tossing the shells behind his back as he finishes them. He finishes the bag, peeking inside of it for more. "Darn..." He mutters.
The Ringmaster looked at himself in the mirror before taking his top hat and decided to head out of the tent and into the world around him. He wasn't in the show anymore, that was decades ago. However, that didn't stop the old Ringmaster from doing what he pleased. He walked out if the tent and walked away
Walking into the carnival, festival, or whatever it was at all, Omega looked around, wandering through the crowds. People backed away, some trying to figure out what was behind the mask, others steering clear of the man. He enjoyed it, no one to bother him, and if there were any hostiles, he would kill them most likely.
Making a good distance from Dark's cage, Mary saw a tall, masked figure, and not the one featured in the main show. She decided the man didn't need all his money with such a failed outfit. Picking one pocket was easy, but she didn't know which pocket he'd keep his wallet in. She pulled the usual move for the first pocket before quickly move around behind him, reaching in a grabbing what she could before mad dashing into a crowd of the side.
(Hey, sorry I was in a bit of a situation for a few days.) Jonesy carried a large box over his head as he walked through the crowd. A few people noticed the oddity of the small boy doing the task, but he wasn't for show. He was moving some supplies from a tent towards the entrance of the faire. It contained stacks of entrance tickets. He knew this because Rickard had been talking about their cost when Jonesy took over to carry them. He dropped the box near the entrance and swapped back over to Rickard, who quickly did some calculations, then swapped back to Jonesy to head back to meet the Ringmaster for any work he needed to do. Jonesy liked working. It kept him from trying to think too hard which hurt a bit. Jonesy left thinking to Rickard.
(A black metal mask and a black hooded robe didn't work, so it was a fail???) The grabbed the woman by the wrist, taking the item back. It felt like money, but it was photo of a group of people, the edges of it were burnt, "I suggest you go else where little girl." He said as he forced her back.
Dark pads around in his cage, smacking his lips. He was thirsty.. Where was his water? He always had water...
