She squinted before a salesperson waved at her, gesturing to some swimsuits. She looked curious, going over towards the stand.
She pulled a bikini off the shelf that was only strings, her brow furrowing as she squinted at it. “What...?”
She started giggling, her dimples exposed as she looked up at him. “I think you could make anything look good,” she replied earnestly. “But this might be your biggest challenge yet.”
“I think you could too,” she said agreeably before pulling off a soft pink swimsuit. It was two-pieces and she frowned at it as a salesperson came up to her. “That would look very pretty on you,” he said smoothly, raising an eyebrow. “And the shape would be flattering.” June looked over at him, frowning a little. “Flattering...?” “You know, for your body.”
The salesman didn’t notice at first. “Yes, well, Elves are quite small. This will help round you out in all the right places.” He paused, noticing Zerras’ glare and fell silent. She flushed in surprise, looking back at Zerras uncertainly.
His expression changed almost immediately when she turned, giving her a small smile. He ruffled her hair. "Just pick out something you like, alright? I'm still deciding."
She relaxed when he spoke, turning back to the salesperson who seemed to be regathering his confidence. “The... right places?” June asked uncertainly, frowning at the man. He smirked, raising one eyebrow. “Well, as I said, elves are on the smaller side, but this pink is flirty and I’m sure will round out all those little insecurities, pun not intended.” June looked down at herself, frowning deeply. “Insecurities?” The salesperson draped an arm over her shoulder, leading her away from Zerras a little. “Big tall guy like that, you wanna give him something to look at, you know? Gotta nail him down quick. This swimsuit, I guarantee ya, it’s a crowd pleaser.”
Zerras's eyes widened, his pupils narrows and catlike as he watched the man. He would almost feel his gaze burning on the back of his head. He didn't say anything yet, not wanting to upset June.
She shied away from the man a little, frowning deeply as he led her to another rack. “I just wanted to swim...” “Well, listen,” the goblin said, moving through the clothing racks and pulling out increasingly lavish swimsuits. “That guy over there, he’s gonna leave you behind if you don’t catch his attention really quickly. Lots of pretty girls come to this beach, and I’ll warn ya sweet cheeks, they aren’t afraid of showing some skin. I really just want what’s best for you, ya know? You seem like a nice gal. I don’t want you to lose out because you were actin’ like a prude. Now, how are we gonna get those hips popping?” She seemed distressed, still holding the original suit in her hands. “My hips... popping?” “Yeah. Curve of the hips is very important to attraction, especially to demons. They got those tails, you know? Gotta make room. Let’s get you a red suit too, just in case.”
Zerras took her by the shoulders, pulling her to him protectively. His glare never left the man. "Hey, June. I found a swimsuit you might like."
She looked up at him, clearly relieved that he was here, but her shoulders slumped under his arms, her spirits clearly dampened. The goblin spoke up. “Excuse me, my fine sir, but we were in the middle of a transaction.”
