She made a small noise of surprise, but kissed him back, her arms slipping around his neck. She seemed to have gained a little bit of confidence since their first kiss, and her fingers gently brushed through his hair.
She was a soft, rosy pink, and she pursed her lips in embarrassment. “You’re... ugh. You have too much power here.”
She shook her head, watching him carefully. “You know that’s not true,” she replied quietly, leaning forward and placing a soft, sweet kiss again his cheekbone.
“You’re cleverer than I am,” she mused softly, looking over at him. “And you understand relationships better than I do. How could the power not rest with you?”
She blinked in surprise before laughing, her face softening as she curled up next to him, her temple resting on his shoulder.
It took her a little longer to relax long enough to drift off, but eventually she did, her fingers brushing his chest.
The night passed without incident. The next morning Zerras had turned, his arms wrapped around her again.
