Things are entirely to hectic at my home right now. I've been trying to work as much as possible on my home business; and thank goodness for my fellow bronies for helping me lift my online business off the ground with their interest in my work and supporting me during this tough time. I'd have to say, MLP fans probably the best people I've met in fandom. Had lots of friends in the community giving their support during this tough time and it's been wonderful. Currently right now our landlord is trying to sell the property we live on to a new buyer, so we've had traffic through our home lately while buyers look over our home. I've been quite angry about the whole thing because our landlord sort of surprised us last minute with the whole thing and we don't know if we'll be able to stay in our home after July 2015, because that's when our lease is up. So we've also been going through our home and getting it organized, just in case we have to move next year. If we have to move, it will likely be to a small apartment instead of a house. We've lived in this house for 13yrs, it's a special place to me and the idea of having to leave it next year is making me panic. Not just that, but we've also been without a car for my household for a year because I haven't had the money to buy my family a new one. That and dealing with chronic health issues, the whole situation is entirely to stressful for me. It's also tough because when I'm stressed, my best friend turns into a knight in shining armor and feel like he has to go to battle for me and protect me. It's usually quite sweet, but I told him that there's just some things he can't solve and having a word with my landlord on my behalf isn't going to help the situation. During times like this, I'm thankful I've found My Little Pony and the fandom. Thanks for letting me rant. ~Anti~
In a couple weeks, I'll be getting another routine stomach surgery. I'm looking forward to it, and I'm hoping afterwards I'll start feeling better and my health will improve compared to 2013 where I didn't have a single good day health wise. People don't realize how distressing stomach issue can be, and I lost 40lbs due to vomiting from my gastroparesis this past year. It can be difficult trying to met someone for business lunch and having to sit there sipping coffee while they eat. It makes people very uncomfortable. Never mind when I was working on a theater show earlier this year and a rumor spread I had an eating disorder. I'm also thankful my employer has been so cool about me having to miss work. Hoping things will get better from here. I am concerned however, because they will be testing me for stomach cancer again, which is always scary even if it is routine. They will also be evaluating whether I'll need any further surgery this year. Luckily, I'll have my mother and best friend to keep me company before surgery and after. I am greatly looking forward to coming home afterwards, getting into my nice warm bed, feeling 80% better and eating some chicken soup and watching My Little Pony with my dog, while I recuperate. As I said in my last blog, I've been working on practicing customizations. I'm still waiting on the hair for my brushable, but I've painted some figures while I wait. I'm planning on making Luna tonight. I also going to try and get a couple more to make DJ Pon-3 and Dr.Whooves. I'm more excited about wave 9 though and I got Rarity and Rainbow Dash, I hope I can get Cadence later this week. I'd like to get more than those three, but the rainbow ones are my priority because, hey, they're pretty. The target here in Iowa has wave 9, but our Walmart is still trying to sell wave 8, and they've got bins full. If you are looking for a specfic pony from wave 8 or 9, let me know and I can probably find it for you. Here are the ponies I've painted so far, I got better brushes today, so I'll be able to do better work on my next ponies. I hope to get some sculpty clay to do add ons. I love doing my knitted pony hats, but I want to expand into other pony items to sell. Sorry the pictures are blurry, I only have my camera phone for pictures at the moment. Derpy 1st Pony practice, Nova Star (my OC) My Blind Bag Rainbow Dash and Rarity (clarification, these are the blind bags from wave 9, I did not paint them. You can get them at target, or contact me and I can figure out a way to send a couple to you.) Princess Luna (new- freshly painted) This is probably the best one I've done so far, her color is near perfect and her mane sparkles. She has a really fantastic iridescent quality as well the phone camera wont pick up. I'm really happy with how she turned out.
After a stressful day with my family, I decided to treat myself to a couple blind bag ponies -got Granny Smith (would like to trade her) and Lotus Blossom, and also decided to try my hand at a custom pony figure. Bought Pinkie Pie and plan on making my OC, Nova. Getting all my paints and things together, wish me luck all, I hope it goes well and doesn't end in horrific failure. Also, Rainbow Dash hat is coming along nicely. I'm putting her eyes and hair on today. Yay! --------- Update: I got tired of seeing the incorrect mane on my rainbow dash figure, so I used her as painting practice and made her mane the correct colours. I'm planning on making Nova (my OC), Derpy and Princess Luna tomorrow from the blind bags I bought today while I'm waiting on my pony hair to arrive in the mail for my brushable. I'm hoping I can learn how to do the clay with the figures once I have some extra money.
For anyone that posted to me or sent me messages, just an FYI. I haven't been on in awhile. I had a computer crash of epic proportions which I'm still having to deal with. My computer is going to be fixed and I'm ordering new parts. I shouldn't lose my information, but I can't use my computer. My best friend is letting me use one of his extra ones until I can get mine up and going, which is fantastic I can still get online, but sucks because all my knitting patterns, stories and artwork are on my other computer. I luckily have my pony hat pattern memorized, so I can still make those. Still making plenty of hats (need to load pictures), I am extending the discount on them through December (ebay usr Antidaeophobia). I'm also starting on making knitted pony plushies. I'm currently working on a Doctor Whooves plushie, a Daring Do knitted hat and a Rainbow Dash knitted hat. I'm super excited because I managed to get my first blind bag ponies. Everywhere I go around here, they're always out of ponies, luckily, I was at Walmart with my mom and friend while they were restocking the ponies and snagged a couple- got Gilda, Royal Riff and Rainbow Dash and I put them next to Spock, Lore and Sarek on my desk. So awesome! Live Long & Prosper fellow bronies, ~Antidaeophobia~
Almost finished with my knitted DJ Pon3 (Vinyl Scratch), can't finish till I get a few more supplies that my friend is bringing me as soon as the weather clears up. I'll make a brony of him yet, it not by my insistence then by his teen daughters. He's bringing me black fleece to replace the temporary grey as pictured and I'll add the lenses as soon as I can. My Rainbow Dash hat has caused quite the stir at the grocery store and when I'm doing errands, and kids love it and have had a couple yell 'It's rainbow dash!' LOL The thing is wonderfully warm though and I've had quite the pleasant winter in it. I think I'll have to pack it away come spring though since it's so warm. While I wait I think I'll start on a third to pass the time. Based on the yarn I have, I have three possible choices. Spitfire (in Wonderbolt style with goggles) Soarin (in Wonderbolt style with goggles) Big Machintosh I'd be interested in hearing what you vote for. I need to keep busy and want to start my new hat as soon as possible, but can't decide which. The ponies, they invade my mind and I now they've taken over my arts and crafts. Anyway, take a vote in the comments if you like. ~Anti~
