She watched his back for a moment before pulling the cloak tighter around herself and closing her eyes.
The fire flickered as they both turned over to sleep, keeping the area lit with a harm hue. In the morning, the fire had mostly gone out, the wind twisting the small smoke column.
She was curled up by the remains of the fire, but her eyes fluttered open and she looked up at him. “Zerras...?”
"It's supposed to be," he said, taking the kite and pinning the string down with a sharp twig, letting it fly up into the air without him having to hold it. "Do you want to eat first?"
“No, that’s okay,” she said quickly, sitting up. She was ready to go, as she had used her cloak as her blanket, but her hair was messy from sleep and she rubbed her eyes. “We can go.”
She nodded, glancing over at the kite. “Don’t worry. I can handle it. We should get moving, though. Aren’t you cold?”
She considered this, tucking her blonde hair behind her ear. "No, that's okay... I'll make another on the way. Plus, look at it. It looks happy. I don't want to disturb it."
