"That's not how it works," he said as they made their way in. It was a small town, with a cobblestone path and shops along the main road, with the houses being behind them.
She followed alongside him eager, pulling her hood back. The tips of her ears were still pink from the windchill. "We should probably get extra bandages."
She hung onto his arm but looked delighted at the presence of other people. "I miss Tanzy," she mused.
"Well, my scythe might break eventually," she said with a small shrug. "There's lots of ways we could die on this trip."
