The Fae country was dark and ominous, large trees towering overhead. They set up camp, and Calliope would keep hearing strange noises in the woods around them. Puck had remained sullen and quiet, only responding to questions with one-word answers. Ben, as a contrast, had grown alive underneath the cover of the trees. A few times, she would swear that his grey eyes glowed with a deep silver.
She occasionally glanced over at him curiously, but at the same time was distracted by the strange noises around them.
Puck laid down on his bedroll, his back to the two of them. Ben was looking around in interest before looking over at Calliope. “You must be tired,” he said gently.
She hesitated, looking over at him as she laid back on her own bed roll. "A bit," she said quietly, feeling a bit awkward. "We ought to sleep to get an early start."
