Puck drew his sword, and there was a silence before there as a loud scuttling, sounding like many insect feet. “Run,” Ben commanded sharply, drawing a shape in the air and pressing it towards the noise.
Loud noises of conflict came from behind them, with loud screeching and hissing. As she drew a light, she would see that the path in front of them was made from smooth stone.
She would see flashing lights, but she wouldn’t be able to see them. Puck pulled her forward. “Come on.”
The lights faded in the background as they began to walk and a silence fell. The only light they were moving by was the fellow from her orb.
She followed Puck, her brows furrowed nervously as she kept glancing back, almost expecting Ben each time.
The area where they had been fighting had grown dark. Puck didn’t glance back and continued forward, his sword drawn.
Puck shook his head, his brow furrowing. “He’d want us to leave him behind,” he said, reaching for her arm.
She didn't notice his hand as she pulled away to squint back into the darkness. "I don't want to do that.."
