She was swimming quickly, trying to keep up with him. "Keep going," she said to Zerras, swiping at the eel with her weapon.
He caught her fin and she cried out as the teeth raked across her tail. She swiped at his snout, causing him to let go in surprise as they left the cave.
It didn't pursue, staying in the depths if the cave as they left. Zerras looked back at her. "Are you okay?!"
She nodded, pressing her lips together to keep her from crying. She had large bite marks on her tail, the blood mixing with the water.
Zerras approached the shore, looking around nervously. "I don't know." They touch the sand and slowly they would feel their normal legs return.
She pulled herself onto the sand and looked down a little at her legs. As they transformed back, he would see the bite marks more clearly, having dragged down her legs as she tore away. Juniper looked down, her eyes widening as she bled on the sand.
Zerras looked back at her as well. He picked up her up with shaking hands as he quickly started off towards camp. Luckily they weren't too far, and he carefully set her down as he dug through the bag for first aid.
She was very quiet, looking down at herself. "Don't panic, Z," he would hear her say eventually. "It's not that bad..."
She laughed a little, looking over at him tiredly. "I can't help it if the eel chose to chomp on my legs."
She winced a little as he began to clean the wounds, but as he worked, she reached out and gently rubbed his head. "Thanks, Z."
