She laughed deeply, standing up and brushing the sand off her pants. “I’m going to change,” she said decisively, going through her bag.
She pulled out a soft floral sundress that had been squished to the bottom of the bag. It wasn’t appropriate for cold weather, and she had forgotten it, but it was a light cream color with small red flowers. She tilted her head before pulling off her shirt and slipping the dress over her head, standing up to take off her trousers. Her back was sore and she sighed a little as she rolled her neck, folding the discarded clothes.
She gathered up everything, running her fingers through her hair tiredly before glancing over at him, coming up behind him and kissing his shoulder blades.
She flushed a little, tilting her head. “Thanks. I forgot I brought this.” She tugged on his shirt gently. “I like this color on you.”
She tilted her head, her shoulder brushing his upper arm. “You meet a girl. She works on a farm, but you only see her on a farm for about a day before she joins you on a journey across the country. During that time, she beats up a troll, learns how to swim, and sets some things on fire. You fall in love with this girl, and when asked to describe her, you respond with ‘nature-y’.”
“And you do best with fire,” she replied with a nod. “But I don’t look at you and think, ‘there’s Zerras. There’s the boy I love. He’s so... fiery.’”
He raised an eyebrow at her. "Saying that you're nature-y isn't saying that's the single word I'd use to describe you."
