She looked over at him before slipping under his arm, resting her head on his shoulder. “I would never,” she murmured quietly. “Until the end, right? Whenever that end is.”
“I’m sad,” she replied quietly, closing her eyes. “I’m sad that there will be a time that you won’t exist on this planet, and I’m sad that it’s sooner than I thought it would be. I’m sad that you don’t want to live very long, and I’m sad that I haven’t done enough to prove that life is worth living. But I still love you.”
He frowned, hugging her. "I don't want to watch you die," he told her quietly. "I want to live as long as you do, because I'm happy with life when you're around."
She looked up at him, her brow furrowing. “I don’t have a ton of time, Z,” she said softly, resting her forehead against his temple. “Especially not compared to you. I don’t think you should make this decision so hastily.”
She frowned before kissing him gently, her hand coming up to brush his jaw. Only a few days had passed since they were on the rooftop with the fireworks. In the few days, however, her hands and her body and her mouth had become so familiar to him. She seemed to fit with him perfectly, even down to the way his fingers intertwined with his.
She nodded, slipping her arms around his waist. “I missed you,” she replied quietly. “You make me really happy, Zer...”
She looked up at him for a moment before slipping onto his lap, her arms moving to drape over his shoulder as she rested her head down.
She sighed a little, closing her eyes. “You too, Z,” she murmured before tilting her head. “...darling? How’s that one? Too much, right?”
