Her laugh deepened and she kissed him, slipping her arms around his waist. “No,” she countered. “You’re way better than you were before. Just maybe not at flying.”
She rubbed his back gently before pulling away and taking his hands, kissing his knuckles gently. “My mother might ask you to work on the farm,” she said apologetically. “If you stay with us. But I can do the chores she assigns you; I do them anyway.”
Her frown deepened and she shook her head. “It’s okay, Z,” she said gently. “It’s already the stuff I do anyway. I don’t want you to have to do farm stuff.”
She looked a little panicky, glancing up at him. “I don’t want you to leave,” she said hesitantly. “It’s not glamorous stuff...”
Her face brightened for a moment, her mouth curving up in a smile and her eyes lighting up before her face fell. “You can’t fly for that long,” she replied. “You’ll be tired.”
Her frown deepened and she stood on her toes, kissing his cheek. “I’m always going to worry about you.”
