She looked up at him, still frowning before shaking her head. “Could you just feel around underground? See what it feels like or look for any kind of blockage? I got this.”
He would sense long lines of metal along the corn, which he would assume were the sprinkler lines. They seemed well-built, but he would notice a couple of points where they had disconnected from each other across the field.
He exhaled slowly, carefully trying to move the sprinklers back into place with his magic. His brows furrowed as he concentrated on his task.
It was a delicate task, but it would prove to be quite simple to someone of his ability. There were many of these breaks, though, and it would take a few minutes for him to complete the task. When he finished, however, he would hear Juniper gasp in surprise from some distance away as the sprinklers came back online, spraying water at her.
She was covered in water, and she looked up at him in shock before coming over to him, her hand curling against his chest as she beamed up at him. “You did it!”
She shook her head, reaching up and kissing him, her skin still wet with water. “You’re amazing,” she murmured.
She was watching him adoringly, her eyes narrowing in appreciation. “Well... maybe you’ll want to talk to Finneas about some systems... he has a lot of ideas, but maybe he needs some magic.”
“That might be best,” she said, looking over her shoulder at the lines and lines of crops. “I need to go finish gathering the rest of the corn before sundown, so I won’t be much fun...”
Finneas was cleaning the table, scrubbing in a cleaner. He had on rubber gloves and he was muttering to himself.
