“You haven’t seen Rosy’s ability to gossip,” she muttered, looking up at him with a small flush. “Sorry. “
She leaned into his touch. “Wanna make out in the corn fields later?” she teased brightly, her voice low enough to not be overheard.
She flushed before nodding, pulling away from him. “I’ll meet you there after I finish,” she replied, running her fingers through her hair. “Or I’ll beat you there.”
(Zoop!) When he had finished, he would find her in their spot in the corn, lying in the grass with her eyes closed.
She opened her eyes, sitting up on her arms and looking over at him. “Hey, Z,” she replied, tilting her head. “I won.”
She tilted her head before crawling onto his lap, cupping his jaw in her hands. “Are you doing okay?”
She looked down at their hands curiously before resting her forehead against his, giving him a small smile. “Yes. I’m really, really happy.”
His hand reached up and rested on her jaw, his fingertips gentle against her skin as they kissed. The sunlight was warm as it beamed down on them, revealing is hair as a deep red that looked soft in the rays. After a moment, he pulled away, watching her with an adoring and thoughtful gaze. "I love you."
