God, the 90s had some great shows. Can't embed vids from my phone but Batman TAS was my fave from that time period.
I got you~ I also liked Batman Beyond as well~ It has quite the opening too, though I cannot say if it's late 90s or early 2000s for this one.
1999, to be exact. >^_^< After I got my own TV and VCR, I started setting it up to record that show while I was away on weekends. I grew up watching nearly all of the stuff on Nickelodeon, be it Nick Jr., Nick at Nite, or everything in-between. I stopped watching it for good after it started becoming Spongebob Central. As for CN, technically I stopped watching it after we no longer had cable... though even if we still had it, I wouldn't watch it now. A television station is nothing without a wide variety of programming, and it's not there. It's a shame we don't see stuff like this anymore.
Batman TAS holds up pretty well still today vs. a lot of the other stuff that came out back then. And Batman Beyond was really underrated, I quite enjoyed it. You know, that may have been one of the big drawing points of MLP:FiM... It didn't treat the viewers like idiots. There was so much garbage out there when it started up.
That makes sense. I knew it was the late 90s when it started, but I needed to be sure. I remember some stuff from Nicktoons and Nick at Night. But a lot of my cartoon watching, when I got older, was from Cartoon Network. Ironically I remember Megas XLR, but I don't recall watching it all that much. Probably because other obligations had me miss it alot. Homework namely. That's probably a lot of it. Also, FiM did a great job of using examples of different levels of friendship. And even teaching with some more common sense stuff for socializing. Also, Celestia is a HARDCORE extrovert. Like to almost dangerous levels.
Without a doubt. Especially after the first 2 seasons or so I'd say. The writers of the show started to realize they were hitting an older audience as well.
Yeah, The references to other stuff like The Big Lebowski made it to where adults could enjoy the show too. Lauren Faust said that she wanted to make a show kids could enjoy watching with their parents. It just so happened to get the attention of adults who didn't have kids as well. And now, here we are.
I'm trying to avoid news/spoilers/etc on the new G5 movie until it comes out. I think it's going to be a netflix exclusive or something? Anyways, I plan to go in with no expectations.
