Both the shows AND the actual televisions. I've always liked those big TVs from the 1980s that you could just put stuff on top of. I have fond memories of watching basketball and playing NES games on one of those things.
You didn't need furniture for the TV, the TV was the furniture. They were useful for being an extra shelf.
I remember the big Zenith TVs both my mom and dad (they divorced when I was 2) had at their houses. My dad plays guitar and I remember his amp sitting next to it and making the colors all wonky because of the magnets in the speakers.
Yeah, my dad's really hard-headed to this day. He didn't believe me at first but I knew what was happening because I sat radio on top of mine once and it did that.
I hope you stored your VHS tapes well, that was the bad thing about them - how fast they would start losing quality.
Can attest to that. I have a handful of tapes that date back to before 1994, and only a few of them are still decent in quality.
My wife still has her old VCR. We've got it hooked up in the living room but we still haven't used it since we moved in.
I still have mine. Most of the ones I own are stuff that I recorded off Kids' WB and Cartoon Network (and The International Channel, back when the station existed and I still had access to it) from high school down to about 2015-2016 or so. I don't watch them anymore, though; the headphone jack on my TV's broken, and I don't want to disturb my parents.
