    Memory is a tricky thing.

Not so tricky for fictional characters. Everything is written down.

Yeah, but that doesn't mean you can always find what you're looking for. I still remember an Episode of Batman Beyond that doesn't exist. Maybe I saw the story as a comic, but I could have sworn it was an episode.

Some would say it's tricky even for them, too. That Zapana character who meddled with Callista's death crystal at Spamville recently? I've lost track of how many times I've had to redo her backstory in the past thirty years.

To summarize: kidnapped as a pup, experimented on, turned into a super-soldier by a mad scientist, escaped by blowing up his volcano base, jumped in a portal to Earth... (goes on in this vein)

Ignore her. She'll be at this a while.

Even then, the creator's memory plays into it as well. Akira Toriyama said that the reason Launch wasn't in anything but the beginning of DBZ is because he straight up forgot about her.

So I guess you could say his memory was out to Launch?

Never mind the rimshot; I'd chuck an entire drum set at you if I could. -_-

I think I ended up quitting all those really long running anime shows.
Stopped after DBZ, no idea who some of these characters are.
Stopped Bleach after about 90 episodes.
Stopped Naruto somewhere in the middle of Shippuden.
    Never even started One Piece.

Probably just as well. You think those first three are long? One Piece has over 1100 episodes to its name. :D

Ha! Yeah I heard it was some ridiculous number, lent to me not starting. Also someone said that you have to watch about 125 episodes before it starts to get good... :dunno:

"Good" is relative. I've felt it was good more or less from the beginning. The 125 mark's right around the point where the difficulty of the "boss fights", if you want to call them that, start escalating from that point forward (with one or two exceptions, but that's a whole other story).

Something I read recently indicated that One Piece's author had originally planned for the series to take about five years for him to finish, instead of the 25+ we ended up with just to get to the final set of arcs. As an author myself, I'm familiar with the idea of stuff spiraling into a direction previously unintended. ()^_^

My Hero Academia is coming to an end and it looks like Demon Slayer might be following soon after. On the flip side, I've started a few other ones. Chainsaw Man and Dandadan are absolutely insane but my favorite newer one is Frieren: Beyond Journey's End. It's pretty laid back and has some really nice world building.

One Piece is a different beast in terms of longevity. I've accepted that I'm not going to binge it so it will take me forever to catch up. Smaller, more contained shows have definitely been my preference.

Also didn't one of the Dragon Ball movies just have Piccolo state he forgot he can go giant?

Note: I'm not one of the crazies that likes Bondrewd. He is a psychopath.

Their are racing anime, but I think the closet thing you'll get to a Nascar Anime is Cars.

I'm actually a little surprised there isn't more racing anime out there. I'd say that maybe it's just a hard sport to make one for but there's an anime for basically every other sport.

Cars 3 is one of my favorite racing movies. As far as anime though, the only racing one I ever watched was Speed Racer.

I saw Herbie: Fully Loaded back in college, but that's the extent of my experience with vehicular silver screen entertainment.
