The Changelings' desire was to take over Equestria, yet all that happened was that they were repelled from the Capital, Canterlot. Nothing is stopping them from continuing their attack, so I'm excited for the first two episodes of season three seeing as how they'll most likely be back to finish what they already started. Wait a second... Season 2 - Invade, get cut off Season 3- Finishing the fight God dammit, Hasbro.
well, about season 3. only specific thing that I'm expecting is Scootaloo episode. I think she too deserves at least one episode. Epic one
If anything, maybe the CMC will get their cutie marks, but I'm thinking a twist would be that only ONE gets their cutie mark, and they have to find a way to hold together and not break apart due to the circumstances that the one with the mark no longer needs the group.
There will be season three! I will be angry if there isn't... Anyhow, I agree, a Scootaloo episode is needed, and another Luna episode, another Trixie episode, another Changeling Invasion episode, and maybe even an episode where Discord isn't a villain (though I'm not a big Discord fan, it would be cool) would all be on my list of awesome things that could happen in season three. Obviously Trixie needs to come back, because she tells Twilight that she hasn't "heard the last of The Great and Powerful Trixie!". Reasons for the Changelings and Scootaloo have already been given. Luna is just awesome and needs more parts, and Discord was the least evil of all the villains, IMO, so he has the most potential to come back as a non-villain, though I suppose they already did that in a way with Luna... No matter what happens, though, I'm sure that season three won't disappoint us.
Apparently, John de Lancie has recorded a new segment for My Little Pony but can't tell of the details; he can't say what he'll be doing but he is going to be in season 3. We'll just have to wait and see. Also, according to Wikipedia, season 3 is a go, yay. I would like to see the CMC finally get their Cutie Marks and see more of Luna, Zecora, and Trixie.
Not a guess, but... Ridiculous wish that will never happen: Shining Armor and Cadence move to Ponyville as protectors or lord and lady.

"A Magician Comes to Town" Trixie moves to Ponyville, Twilights constant attempts to establish a friendship with Trixie are misinterpreted and Trixie challenges Twilight to a magic contest. "Scootaloo's Flight" After Rainbow Dash doesn't show up to help Scootaloo's flight training , Scootaloo re-considers if Idolising one pony alone is such a good idea. "An elegant sound" Pinkie Pie is throwing a party for Rairty but only on the condition it is a high class Canterlot affair, but Pinkie Pie's efforts may come undone over the choices in music. "Discord? Accord!" Discord one again breaks free of his stone Prison, but when too easily confronted, Discord offers one thing in return for his freedom, one chance for Twilight to save Equestria. "Celestia's Jubilee" - Equestria Celebrates the 1600th birthday of Princess Celestia. "PI Fluttershy" Somepony has been eating all of the animals food and Fluttershy wont stand for it. Maybe cower. "A Crusade's End" The CMC get their Cutie marks and wonder what will happen to their friendship now there common link as Cutie Mark Crusaders is gone(Penultimate episode) "Ponyville Now, Then and Forever" Or not.
I want to see Tank again =( also, (while slightly overdone) I want to see an evil Mane six group wreck some havoc on Equestria.
