I love Pinkie Pie songs and songs from the show in general I would also love to hear another Rarity song too Kazumi Evans and Shannon Chan Kent are the two best singers in the show.
I really liked this episode, the A-Team reference was awesome! I never really had a problem with any previous CMC episodes (they weren't my favourites but still good) but this was definitely one of the better episodes in the series imo.
This episode was pretty good! I really liked the new song. I even arranged the lead part for Ocarina Time to dig out my ocarina and start practicing (The arrangement should pop up on Everypony Sings once Candy Coda makes the news post.)
Something I found strange was how mature Applejack was acting. It just feels like all the characters are growing up I guess. I suck at explaining what I mean. *Thinks back to Fall Weather Friends episode*
Applejack has always been the most mature pony in the group IMO, that is to say, aside from her somewhat stubborn & competitive nature, she's deffinantly the most well rounded & down to earth "(as seen in sisterhooves social where she give rarity advice & super speedy cider squeezy 6000, where she didn't learn anything cause she already knew she was in the right) I don't find it strange at all. Now Pinkie Pie acting mature, now that would be strange XD.
I would really like to see another song with Rainbow Dash. Her singing voice in Find A Pet is very nice, now we just need to hear it in a better song, and preferably only her being featured rather than a duet. I hope that day never comes.
This episode just...I don't know...rubs me the wrong way... ..."friendship is magic". That's the theme of the entire show. The power of friendship, how friendship is the best kind of love. So...why did Babs Seed join Diamond Tiara's clique? Wouldn't she rather stay with the Cutie Mark Crusaders in the first place? Especially considering that Apple Bloom is family? I keep thinking about the Mane Six. The other five were already friends when Twilight Sparkle arrived in Ponyville. And all of them made the very best to become Twilight's friends. And once Twilight realized the healing power of friendship, she instantly became their friend. And ever since, the six of them have stood for each other, helped each other, gave each other advice and were always there for each other. My point is that this kind of thing would NEVER happen to the Mane Six. Even someone like Rarity often chooses her friends over her career as a fashion designer. And here's something else: why would Diamond Tiara let Babs Seed join her clique to begin with? Diamond Tiara's bullying of the Cutie Mark Crusaders is squarely because the Cutie Mark Crusaders don't have Cutie Marks, and Babs Seed doesn't have a Cutie Mark, either. It's more likely for Diamond Tiara to mock Babs Seed's attempt to join her side and bully her for her lack of a Cutie Mark.
Perhaps Diamond Tiara realized that Babs Seed is a better bully than her or something. Also, Babs joined Diamond Tiara because she didn't want to be bullied by her or something like that.
But that goes against the central theme of the show. Again, Twilight, Fluttershy AND Rainbow were bullied and in many instances are still bullied. But they ALWAYS choose their friends over the bullies. Imagine if Fluttershy joined the Wonderbolts in their bullying instead of standing up for Rainbow like she did...
What's so wrong with it going against the central theme of the show if she learned her lesson? Seriously, should the writers just skip any kind of conflict that goes against the central theme of the show? What would they do than, have tea parties? And different people act different in the same situation, I'm assuming that the same goes for ponies.
Again, non-Cutie Mark Crusaders stories manage to have conflict WITHOUT going against the central theme of the show. And the last sentence goes against EVERYTHING that the first two episodes established. When Twilight arrived in Ponyville, EVERYONE was willing to befriend her. And her close friends now include five very mismatched Ponies, yet it's their friendship that unites them. Ponyville, if not ALL of Equestria, is an utopia where most Ponies are willing to be your friend. To say something like you said shows a complete lack of understanding on how the show works. Even Discord willing rejected his ways once the concept of friendship was introduced to him.
I don't see how this episode goes against the central theme of the show. She learned her lesson at the end, isn't it that what matters? And as I said, different people act different in the same situations. If I remember correctly Twilight didn't befriend every single pony in Ponyville. Heck, she didn't even befriend a single one in Canterlot. And you know what really unites Twilight and her friends? The elements of harmony, because Twilight would probably return to Canterlot as soon as possible without making any friends if they hadn't existed.
"I felt it the very moment I realized how happy I was to hear you; to see you; how much I cared about you! The spark ignited inside me when I realized that you all... are my friends!" The bond between Twilight are her friends...it's real. It's strong. It's... ...admirable. Do YOU have any friends? If you do, are they your friends because they have some material possession that you desire? Or are they your friends because of how they make you feel? How they help you get up after you fall down? How they give you advice when you need it? How you help them, and I help you? I had a friend, Maria...Maria was one of my best friends in the whole world. We shared almost everything. She always knew what to say to make me feel better, she always have me the advice I needed. Maria died in a car crash last year. I started watching this show as a way of honoring her, to remember her, the bond I had with her, to feel what I felt when she was alive. What you just said...it hurts me, deeply. I'm sad that people like you exist in this world.
I happen to have friends, do YOU? And no, they are not my friends because of some material possession. They are my friends because we share the same interest, which is something the mane six don't. And may I ask how I hurt your feelings when I was talking about the fictional friendship between six fictional characters? And just so you know, I also happen to be sad by the fact that people like you exist.
I miss both Babs Seed and Coco Pommel I hope that they both come back to the show someday particularly in the same episode.
Bear in mind that the Crusaders, unlike the mane 6, are kids. 9/10 times, they aren't going to handle a situation as maturely as the older characters. Babs was scared and made a rash decision. The CMC didn't know the whole story or stop to think about getting to the root of their problem. They just wanted to get even. I think in many cases, the CMC have to learn lessons the harder way since they aren't mature adults. The mane 6 usually figure their problems out on their own but the CMC usually need guidance from the older characters to get through them.
