The origional series was more then 1 season I believe, also the origional MLP started out fairly dark *heck it had a demonic looking villain that turned ponies into super-evil looking dragons!* G2 Pony Tales only had 1 13 episode season, then G3 was the direct to DVD era, which is where the franchise pretty much hit rock bottom before getting new life kicked into it with G4/FIM.
Previous generations were only made to advertise Hasbro, so 1 season is all they needed until they made a new line of toys to sell.

I mean they did kind of make Trixie's life a living hell (given unintentionally, but still) I mean she was teased & ostracized mercilessly after the events of Boast Busters, and had to toil away on Pinkie's dad's rock farm ... I'd be pretty Pissed as well if that happened to me. The facts remain, Trixie is now evil because of Twilight & co's mishandling of her initial visit to Ponyville, they are merely reaping the harvest of the own foul crop they have sown. I do however hope this time around things end in a way that benifits both parties, and that Trixie and the mane six can bury that hatched by the time all is said & done. Something tales me that amulet is feeding off of Trixie's negative emotions, possibly trying to consume her without her knowing, but thats just me, guess i'll find out the full story on Saturday! Can't Wait!
Trixie could have found a home anywhere, but all she cares about is showing off magic skills that she doesn't have, so yeah ponies will laugh at her. Looks like she's obtained a bit of dark magic though. I think she's just being a baby about it. I would laugh if this episode ended just like the first one. She's proven that she sucks and runs away.
Can't blame Trixie for wanting to live her dream, sure naturally she's not as good as Magic as i'm sure she would like, but for all we know it could have been her life long dream to be a traveling show mare, and well, having your dreams smashed, sometimes, it can turn yea evil.
Well you and I will merely have to agree to disagree on that one. I for one still find it just flat out cruel the way ponies in other towns painted Graffiti on Trixies caravan & laughed her out of town. She may not be perfect, but I think fans are all to eager to put her in the same catagory as lil Diamond Tiara & Silver spoon, the difference is though DT & Spoon have had 3 whole seasons of off & on apperances to concrete their cruelty and 1-dimenional jerky attitudes, this will only be Trixie's second apperance, I say its to early to judge her character as a whole, not till I see how this episode plays out will I make my final judgements on Trixie.
She should find a new hobby. Apparently she sucks at street performing. You said something about graffiti on her caravan? I guess I must have missed that. Never said I didn't like her though. She's just acting childish from what I've seen in the 2 minutes of the episode.
Just saw the episode, and here's what I have to say about the ending, ahem Great, now TWILIGHT's a fourth wall breaker
I just finished the episode and I will say it wasn't as good as I was hoping it was going to be but I still enjoyed it. It got a lot better towards the end when they had the second duel and when Trixie tripped at when she ran away, priceless! I also love the breaking of the 4th wall at the very end that made my day. Overall pretty ok episode 8.5/10
The greatest episode of the season so far, and the greatest ending of the whole show. It was fantastic, everyone got screen time, a parasprite showed up, Zecora returned, and Fluttershy was adorable. I do wish the amulet would be expanded upon. Who made that thing? But no! Genderbending should NOT be canon. XD Also, Saddle Arabia. SADDLE.ARABIA. That's worse than Fillydelphia.
Did anyone else notice the filly that looked almost just like Snow in it? You know, when Carrot Top or Golden Harvest (whichever is her name) and she waited for that filly?
I LOVE the Episode! It made me laugh so hard =) its clearly a 10/10 Snow thats funny.. when i saw it i really had to think of you ^.^
