This was a good episode. The episode made me start to dislike Trixie again, but since she had been corrupted her behaviour was understandable. Also, inb4 DoubleRainbowDash
I really enjoyed this episode, my only complaint is the rushed ending, Trixie's redemption & promise to be more humble in the end felt very shoe-horned in, not anywhere near as organic as Babs redemption was last episode. But overall yeah I enjoyed it, lots of fun visuals, and all the 4th wall breaking and refrences, shout-outs to season 1 of the show, Stephen King, Star Wars, Simpsons Movie. Also, Zecora is Yoda, this makes me want to see a Zecora themed ep, I wish to know how a Zebra learned magic. P.S. I wonder if we will see the new "Humble" Trixie in action someday? *Season 3 finale perhaps?*
9/10 from me. My only complaint is it should have been longer, even if just 2 minutes. This episode is defintely one of my top 5. Can't wait to rewatch in HD.
I don't read what anyone else has posted before I reply, so if I repeat something someone's already said, sorry. So, I have to admit, I thought Hasbro would mess this up. Fanfic writers would be in tears, Trixie fans would be in tears, and if not presented well enough, could have started a drama as grand scale as the talking Derpy Hooves fiasco *shudders*. I was however, wrong. The opening was brilliant, I laughed at how she paid the guy a ton to make him give up the amulet, "Remember kids, bribery is as magic as friendship!" The spells Trixie's cast on the other ponies were interesting, and quirky, not only this but goddamn, I squealed at a pitch higher than human hearing at this little part here: Headcanon accepted! And Twilight brings in a parasprite, I love continuity like that, it's a homage to their roots. Also, when the dome gets put over Ponyville, does it remind anyone else of The Simpsons Movie lol? EPA does the same thing, is Trixie working with EPA?! And of course, you can't forget how Zecora was just like Yoda, ever since day one her home has reminded me of Yoda in Dagobah, but it really stood out to me when she was training Twilight. "You must use the six Twilight", sound familiar? Fluttershy even got some good parts! She was cute as a button when she needed to be, and her aggressiveness near the beginning again made me laugh. That's what made it great, so many things to laugh at and spot, it made the episode really enjoyable. And OH BOY, I think every fanfic writer and clop artist everywhere roared in applause at the whole R63 spell part. My god, Hasbro/Studio B are just pure bloody hilarious. Trixie's apology at the end, I did not want to see even though I knew throughout the episode it was coming, but, I admit, it was a superb little dialogue between her and Twilight, she's still as arrogant as ever, she still wants to be the best, but she won't hurt people to get there. And that's a nice little lesson, I don't mind that she wasn't punished really harshly for her actions. With the finale of fireworks and Saddle Arabian (genius) horses, there is no way under Celestia's sun I can give this episode less than a 11/10 My favourite episode with the exception of the wedding episodes, which get 83974837489374/10
You know, I just realized that when Twilight did the "gender-change" spell, the fact that "Applejack"(Big Mac) said, "Eeyup" in the way Big Mac does, it should have been a dead giveaway
A lot of things in this episode were very predictable. Still one of the greatest episodes ever though. I'll be honest. I don't get it.
Great ep, first one where I darn near laughed myself off my chair several times. Shopkeeper guy reminded me of the one in Gremlins, I was looking around for a Mogwai in there. 10/10
this episode was great. One Bad Apple is still my favorite dough, but this episode defiantly goes into top tier episodes. - best thing about the episode: was Twilight used Trixie's method (aka, faking tricks) as tool against her in duel. Really smart. - Magical amulet, it's a magical amulet! (I bet I'm not only one that had Charlie the Unicorn in mind when I saw that) - More Zecora, yay! - Double Rainbow all the way!!! - Rule 63 Applejack - (although, 2 above were just cheap tricks, but they were still awesome) - Trixie now good, that defiantly improved to how I viewed Trixie (I didn't like her much till now) - Also, the way she tripped on the end of the episode. - Pinkie Pie breaking the 4th wall again (what a surprise) - Twilight breaking the 4th wall (omg!!!) overall 5/5
I was happy to see both Zecora and Trixie in this episode plus also alicorns have been confirmed as a seperate pony race and so has a new location in the show called Saddle Arabia.
Oh the wonderful amount of things that are now canon! -Aging spells -Duping spells -R63 spells -Enlargement/Reduction spells -Fusing spells -Enchanting (and enchanted artifacts) -Saddle Arabia -Saddle Arabians -Waterbending -Dueling -Forcing someone to do something (Sorta like the Imperius curse from HP) -Fast food soda -Amputation via magic -Summoning (In this case a parasprite) -Trixie losing her job after Twilight showed her up (I've seen this in A LOT of fanfics!) -Pinkie's parents still being alive -Magical movies I know some of these didn't actually happen, but the fact that Trixie believed it means that it's possible.
