First off thats mostly assumptions on the viewers part that she "spent months plotting revenge" Which just isn't true, she told the audience in her flashback that after the events of Boast Busters she tried her best to salvage her career but was ostracized & laughed out of Town where ever she tried to perform, eventually having to settle for a job on Pinkie's families rock farm. Was she mad at Ponyville for ruining her carrer, you bet, but I don't think thioughts of revenge came about till after she had concreted in her mind she could never save her carrer as a show mare, then as the Shop Keep said at the start, something drew her to the store, my take is that Alicorn Amulet lured Trixie to it so it could feed off of her negative emotions and eventually corrupt & consume her. Trixie's apology scene *while annoyingly rushed, darn you time constraints* makes sense, even if she was mad at Twilight and Co. I doubt she would have done as much as she did if she had not been under the spell of the amulet, it seemed to amplify her hatred. She even said she couldn't really control herself when under its affects. Trixie may be arrogant and a braggart, but she was never evil, she was just angry, confused and Jaded. I for one commend Trixie for being bigger then herself and apologizing, and Twilight for accepting set apology. And I hope the next time we see Trixie it will be in a protagonist role as opposed to an antagonistic one, or at the very least she will be a more friendly rival to Twilight, one who has improved her magic and career of her own accord.
It just seems to go against everything we've ever seen of her personality. I don't mind that she apologized, I just don't like that it apparently came out of nowhere without showing Trixie reflecting upon herself. It was so jarring to me I thought at first that she must be up to something.
i was suprised she could not do those kinds of magic tricks and stuggled to lift those animals considering that she lift and bashish an ursa minor
Well we had only seen her 1 episode prior, hard to get an accurate view of a characters entire personality in only 1 episode imo, if anything it was good to get some expansion on her character, or that is to say some proof that despite being an arrogant braggart, she's not all bad. Trixie imo is one of those characters that isn't really a bad person perse, she, well she is just prone to making bad decisions.
Yes but throughout that entire one episode she showed no inclination for humility. To have it come literally out of nowhere made no sense to me.
Fair enough, but I would say even someone like Trixie has enough sense to realize when they take it to far. Afterall she's not a complete monster of a pony *Diamond Tiara already fills that role*
Anyone here know when iTunes will put Magic Duel up, I mean they had "Too Many Pinkie Pies" up before it even aired on TV, and "One Bad Apple" was up the day after, now here we are Monday afternoon, two days after the episode premiere and its still not up on iTunes, oy vey, iTunes, why u no have set schedule for pony!?
This is definitely one of my most favorite episodes of MLP. Zecora owns in this episode, I was hoping for her return. Trixie was awesome and had the villain part done perfectly. I also liked her at the end. Pinkie was funny with her mouth gone, and Twilight stole the show again, something tells me this foreshadows the future events for Twilight now that her magic level is now OVER 9000, as read by Trixie's scouter. (I definitely agree that Trixie is MLP's Vegeta). I do hope that Trix returns in a later episode as a good mare. Plus Applejack looked cool as a stallion.
That's a pretty interesting comparison, i've never thought about that before but in a way you're right especially if Twilight and Trixie become friendly rivals.
This is what I was afraid of. I liked the episode, and I like Trixie. I had hoped they wouldn't pander to the fans though. This was nothing but a fanservice episode. Which is okay, I guess, but it's not why I watch the show. I want them to give us what they think is good, like they have been doing for the most part. I watch because they give us good stories and characters. This was almost force feeding us "what we wanted to see". I liked last week's episode "One Bad Apple" a lot more than this one. It wasn't bad, but it is nowhere near the list of my favorite episodes. /R63 AJ was going a bit far to me... Sent from my EVO 4G Shift using Tapatalk 2
It gets annoying when people take the tiniest similarities in an episode and think "omfg reference to this." I bet like 90% of the things people say are a reference never even crossed the creator's minds. Ever hear of "coincidence?"
