I kind of expected this episode to be an ok one, but it was a pretty great episode Also the intro reminded me of the Dota 2 fanimation
Trixie said she needed to work on a rock farm just to make a living, and yet she had all that money to blow on the amulet. Still wondering if she got a refund.
I loved this episode. However, once again, I have to ask, WHERE WAS LUNA? "Oh, derpa derp, the only princess is the big 6 ft. tall one, not the majestic cool one, so ima try to handle dis sh*t by myself." She would have totally DESERVED to lose the rematch. I mean, seriously, do ponies just forget there are TWO princesses?
I'm not a big fan of Trixie, but I enjoyed this episode anyway for all the fanservice and self-referential gags ... And rule 63 AJ the opening scene ... I couldn't decide if it was more like gremlins or hellraiser, but in the end, Alicorn Amulet=one ring, not mogwai or puzzle box.
I'm guessing they're referring to Under the Dome, a recent Stephen King novel where an invisible dome-like barrier mysteriously separates a small Maine town from the rest of the world. Also, I may be wrong, but isn't this the first instance of the term Alicorn being used in the show?
Maine... Why is it always Maine with that guy? <_< Seriously though, i think the dome thing was just a coincidence. I doubt it was a reference to anything.
Can you guess where he was born? It may or may not be a reference. Some people shouted "Stephen King," others shouted "The Simpsons Movie." I think force fields and invisible barriers are well-established enough in our fantasy and science-fiction (and even in My Little Pony, which has made force fields a major plot point in both the Season 2 finale and the Season 3 premiere) that it can probably stand on its own as a mere plot device. Of course, what's important isn't so much what the creators were inspired by as what people individually interpret something to mean. Oh, and...
Meghan McCarthy @MMeghanMcCarthy @TomGeraci This coming weekend. Magic Duel was submitted January 27, 2011. It was originally going to be a Season 2 episode.
Me too. Look what she did to poor Pinkie. If I had been there I'd have removed the amulet by decapitating Trixie.
I did hate Trixie and Boast Busters in general the first few times I watched it but now I think Trixie is a lovable bragger and I love the fact that she talks about herself in thirdperson too bad she only did that at the end of this episode it was still really good and enjoyable, alot better than Boast Busters.
