From the way things look, there don't appear to be many ways things can go wrong. Although, sombra was a massive letdown. I just hope hub doesn't mess up. It'd still be nice to see discord trolling the mane 6. Can't wait for the episode to premier!
The Hubs A Network it can't mess up unless it cans a show people like, only the writers, storyboard artists *and at times fans* can mess up when it comes to the actual content they are viewing.
I really don't like the premise of this episode, because it goes against what Faust was trying to do when she created the show. When she was younger and saw programs like the older MLP generations, she was disappointed because the stories were always the same, and there were never any real villains who needed to be defeated. She commented on how they always just turned the bad guys good by sharing and stuff like that; none of the bad guys ever actually had to be brought to justice. By bringing back Discord just so they can have him get rehabilitated and become a good guy, they're doing exactly what Faust was trying to prevent, going back to the old days where villains were always made good and never brought to justice.
Meh. Faust was the main force behind season one, and the only villain in that season was turned good in the season premiere. Compare to seasons 2 (when she was reduced to consulting producer for the show) and 3 with villains like Chrysalis and Sombra who are utterly, unambiguously evil. Two more points: Discord was never presented as evil. At most, he was a troublemaker who didn't care how his love of chaos affected others. Not nice, but certainly not evil. And even then, the characters turned him back into stone. That seems like a pretty rough punishment to me. Maybe not as bad as annihilating Sombra with a beam of energy, but still unpleasant. We don't even know what's going to happen in the episode yet beyond a very basic synopsis.
Also, Discord's escape from his stone prison must have made Celestia realize that he can't be stopped forever. This, of course, seems to be pretty common with the shows villains, but in Discord's case, she might try for some sort of damage prevention this time. Who knows? This might give better results than all of her temporary banishments from a thousand years ago, after all.
Actually, you're only half right about Nightmare Moon. It was announced in an official statement that Luna was possessed. Nightmare Moon wasn't really Luna; she was an evil spirit possessing Luna's body. So, Nightmare Moon wasn't turned good, she was destroyed, thus releasing Luna from her control. It wasn't a conversion to good; it was an exorcism.
They're going by the order in which the episodes were made. The eighth episode of this season that was made, Just For Sidekicks, was delayed and will air after this one. So, even though they aired/will air before that episode, Apple Family Reunion, Spike at Your Service, and Keep Calm and Flutter On are episodes 9, 10, and 11 respectively.
I can't wait to see the new episode. It'll be the first episode I see when it is actually the premiere (that's how new I am to the fandom).
He drank the glass and threw away the chocolate milk. Just threw it away..then it exploded. That's some stone cold evil right there. I'm a bit more curious as to what this means... lol. Now here's one that's actually relevant. On a side note: Maybe Fluttershy is the only one willing to give him a chance because if he gets out of line, she can handle it no prob. She coulda easily snapped that bears neck, Bruce Lee style.
I figured that maybe the reason she's the only one who's willing to give Discord a chance is because she's The Element of Kindness thus making her the most forgiving and very trusting of other's.
A clip of the episode has been uploaded. All I can say is that MY BODY IS READY. Avoid if you dislike spoilers.
