As do I. Seems like most dislike her. Yeah, she was reckless, but I'm sure she'll be thinking about what she did wrong and won't repeat the same mistake again. She wants to be a Wonderbolt and is learning what it means to be one. Her potential is amazing.
Great Episode. It's quite possible that Dash will become a member of the Wonderbolts, I wouldn't be surprised. But, how would it effect the show if there was less Dash?
I love continuity. I'm glad to see RD is moving toward her goal of being a wonderbolt. Great episode. Probably my favorite RD-themed episode so far. I hope they bring LD back so that they can flesh her out a bit more. She's one of my favorite new pony characters so far. 9/10 for me.
Yeah although we don't know for a fact that she's a Wonderbolt now the end of the episode made it really unclear and as for your question of how it would affect the show well there would be less Rainbow Dash for one and I guess The Mane Six would become The Mane Five.
Pinkie Pie being her wonderful self, A RD episode where I didn't hate RD at the end, the redundancy of Cloudchaser catching Fluttershy. This episode was wonderful. Brought out a shining example of why she's the element of Loyalty. Along with the lengths as to give up her dream just to make an example about the unfair judging and reckless requirements to become a Wonderbolt. This episode helped me re-see that Rainbow Dash I had enjoyed during the pilot. And crumbled away a bit of the resentment I had built on her being the sole "Icon" of the Brony community. All in all this episode was on of the most enjoyable RD Episode I have seen in a while. And so, in lieu of this episode. I went out and bought a Wonderbolts jacket from Hottopic. And I still don't regret the purchase, even though I prefer unicorns.
I was hoping this ep would add some details to the Dash-Dust relationship. Add more scenes of Dust's reckless rise to the top, and Dash's silence and forced professionalism getting to herself. Just turn Dust into a Mr. Blonde and Dash into a Mr. Pink screaming, "CAN WE PLEASE BE PROFESSIONAL?!" I'd die a happy man if FIM did RD references.
This is the only time I ever actually watched the leak of an episode. Normally I can resist the temptation, but this was just too awesome to resist. I still can't decide if I love Lightning Dust or hate her. She's both awesome and messed up at the same time.
It's funny you say that since your Username is Lightning Dust and your avatar picture is also a picture of Lightning Dust.
I had a name change on the day I joined; only the next day did I realize the irony. Also, last night I added Lighting Dust to my list of ponies I've written poems about:
Thanks. I have poems about 30-something characters; by now it might even be up to 40. I've written them about the mane six, CMC (both individually and as a group, and now including Babs), the princesses, Discord, Spike, Queen Chrysalis, Shining Armor, the parasprites, the diamond dogs, Trixie, Gilda, Iron Will, Cheerilee, Fancy pants, Tank, Gummy, Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon, Chief Thunderhooves, King Sombra, Daring Do, Mare Do Well, Big Mac, Granny Smith, Pound and Pumpkin Cake, the Flim Flam brothers, the Wonderbolts, and a few others.
Lightning Dust needs more love. Anyways, here's a stupid question. What does this expression mean? As she's walking away she looks back at Rainbow Dash/Spitfire with this look on her face and I can't seem to figure out what it means. I've always been terrible at this sort of thing.
Looks like a combination of sorrow and shame, like she's realized that this all could have been avoided if she hadn't been so reckless.
I got in an argument with a friend earlier about her. She gets so much hate that she doesn't deserve. I still say she learned her lesson even though it wasn't official, but people still shun her and write her off anyways. I would very much like to see her again, but it's highly unlikely.
She seems like she could be a good rival for Dash, even more so than Gilda. In Griffon the Brush-Off, even at the end I got the impression that Gilda still didn't hate Rainbow; the only pony she hates is Pinkie. And while Lightning Dust wasn't directly shown to be holding a grudge, I wouldn't put it past the writers to have her come back for revenge like they did with Trixie (I hated that episode so much, so if they do bring LD back I hope it won't be as bad as that).
