Entitled "Power Ponies". All in all, I felt it was kinda filler, but enjoyable filler. The best parts were Flutterhulk and Rarity prancing down the staircase she made. I do wonder why the mane 6 were renovating the old castle, though.
Short of saying that the castle was being renovated, the episode served no purpose. Nothing was revealed, no storylines were advanced, absolutely nothing important happened. It may as well have been a dream sequence.
My guess is that it's going to be Twilight's castle (though she may not actually live there, opting to stay at her home in Ponyville). As for the episode, yeah, it was pretty much filler. Not quite as good as The Mysterious Mare Do Well, but still fun with some good injokes for JLA/Avengers fans to catch. And having Pinkie as The Flash was genius.
I LOVED the villain, nothing important story wise, just a filler to me but damn, an awesome filler it was. Mane-iac is best pony.
I quite enjoyed it. Although very little of the story was advanced, the ride was still fun. I expected a LOT more puns like actual superhero shows but I was happy with the few 'mane' ones. I totally knew that an animal was going to get hurt and THAT was what finally pissed Flut off. The payoff was her smashing that... uhh... big... hairdryer... thingy... and more than made up for anything the episode was lacking. Basically, like Yami said, it was an enjoyable filler. This also added a little to my headcanon that Pinkie is on meth... ... ... ... OK, not really. I'm just trying to get in trouble now.
PFFFFFf great episode. What more could you want in a episode, you have Rarity as a lantern, you've got the maneiac with tentacle hair. It was basically perfect.
I really don't know what to think of this episode. It was another one I missed live and had to watch a really crappy veriosn on youtube so that had some effect on my experience. After "Flight to the Finish" last week, which I thought was pretty boring while everyone else apparently thought it was a God send, I was hopping for something a little more exciting and funny. Sure it had its moments but I don't know it just didn't really do it for me. I don't know if I'm losing interest in MLP or what but this episode was just not there for me. I will be sure to give it a rewatche with better quality but for now I just am not very happy with it. 4/10
I liked it. It had some pretty funny moments. I wonder if that enchanted comic book shop will ever come into play. I can't shake the feeling that some of the random elements introduced so far in the season are eventually going to come together. That's probably just wishful thinking on my part.
I'm having difficulty finding a link at all right now. Can't find it on Youtube, nor Dailymotion. Sad face. Does anyone have a good link, plox?
It started out fairly good, but I don't feel like the point was made of 'spike isn't useless', he has one good idea, but isn't going to change the whole dynamic. I felt like if they were going to push the point even more, they could have had Spike do more instead of him sitting on the sidelines while the ponies fought the minions. There were some laugh out loud moments, but the ending was lacking. I thought for sure the ponies would have want to go on another adventure and visit the enchanted comic store, thus allowing for them to have a bounding experience with Spike and something they could have in common. But I felt like the writers sort of dropped the ball on the ending. Also, why are they reconstructing the castle- a short explanation would have been nice.
I also liked that the villain became the Mane-iac in a way that was similar to Jack Napier becoming the Joker (my all-time favorite villain)!!!
Yeah... so, I was kind of disappointed in this episode. When I saw the trailer last week I kind of groaned a little inside. I am glad that the writers are trying a bunch of new things, but I hope they get the message that we mostly don't care for this (don't want to put words in anypony else's mouth here). It had its redeeming qualities: fluttershy, my girl, was fun to watch as the hulk, and pinkie pie's insanity was only rivaled by the villain (who was... impressive in her own right). Overall though, I give it a 4/10. I too would like to know if the castle remodeling is foreshadowing for a major plot point (hope!), or simply backdrop for the Captain-N-esque adventure into comic land (hope not). On another note, I feel bad for Applejack - her character felt extremely neglected. She's not my favorite, but I would like to see another AJ centered episode. This was just "oh look she has a rope power - how creative!". Oh well, there's always next week
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y9SVALL5eWU let's hope it doesn't disappear too quickly. Having just seen it for myself, all I can really say is "meh". That said, one good thing came from this episode. Spoiler
