Blah blah blah. Last I checked, working to clean up your mess is not useless, especially if you're the only one who can do it. Besides, it's not like only Spike would have gotten them stuck in a comic book. Anyone reading that could have. It's not like there was a warning saying "hey this is a spell that will suck you into the comic." You're being ridiculously harsh.

Rarity as Latern was in rare form! Episode was only lacking in a little more Pinkie random awesomeness. Would of like to have seen Spike actually save the day and not just do the stereotypical side kick heroics of, saving the heroes allowing them to save the day. But all and all was fun episode, nice break from last weeks Scootaloo's nonstop crying and foolishness.
I'm not sure what to think about this episode. On the one hand, the concept was ridiculous and the plot unbelievably predictable. On the other hand, it had some genuinely funny bits. Rarity was great. The others... not so much. Fluttershy finally using her powers was just horrible. "The Best Night Ever" executed this idea much better without turning her into some freak of nature. Spike was okay, I guess. Despite all the moping, I'd say it definitely wasn't his worst episode. And again we have someone selling potentially powerful magical things to just about anyone. I think I'm sensing a pattern here. Yeah, it wasn't really a good episode, but I still had fun, so I guess it earns my "Seal of Okay-ness".
I don't get what all the complaining is about. Yes, it was a filler episode. Guess what? In the first two seasons, EVERY episode other than the premiere and finale were fillers. And in my opinion, filler episodes in any show are easily some of the best episodes. I really have nothing to complain about with this episode; it was fun, funny and cute - the simple enjoyable pleasure of watching our favorite ponies go on a another fun little adventure. Which is pretty much why I like this show in the first place.
If you mean me, I didn't actually expect anything else to happen. Everything went exactly as I predicted it, right down to Fluttershy not particularly caring about the villain endangering her friends but completely losing it once she randomly punches a bug. And it was oh so very disappointing. I did make a mistake though. I actually meant "Dragonshy" as an example of a much better execution of Fluttershy's rage power, not "Best Night Ever".
See, that's the thing that pisses me off about this episode. Fluttershy not giving a damn when all five of her friends have been beaten is grossly out of character for her. This is the same Pony who managed to turn DISCORD good just by befriending him and then letting him know, in no uncertain terms, that he would lose said friendship if he hurt any of Fluttershy's other friends. She's the one who stood side by side with her fellow Ponies when they had to face Nightmare Moon and the Changelings. Her whole "all of my friends have been beaten senseless? Whatever" attitude is the exact opposite of Fluttershy's personality. Remember, Fluttershy is Belldandy. And Belldandy would ALWAYS go out of her way to protect Keeichi, Skuld, and even Urd. And Fluttershy is the same. Furthermore, doesn't this completely break the central moral of the entire show? That friendship is magic and therefore you can always count on your friends to have your back? And Fluttershy is the physical counduit of the Element of Kindness. Letting your friends to DIE because you couldn't care less what happens to them is the furthest thing from kind.
Saddle Rager's superpower was based on rage. Fluttershy, especially after the 'Assertive Fluttershy' fiasco, almost never gets angry. She got upset upset when her friends were being attacked, but she did not get angry, most likely because she realized that her friends were more than capable of taking care of themselves in the fight. In the show, the thing which angers Fluttershy the most seems to be bullying, probably because of her own experiences with being bullied. It wasn't until Mane-iac swatted the fly, and thus became, in Fluttershy's eyes, a bully, that Fluttershy became angry enough for her Saddle Rager power to take effect. Also, Fluttershy may be like Belldandy, but she isn't Belldandy. Despite whatever similarities two characters from different shows may share, they are NOT the same character. When discussing canon events, headcanon or fanon is not an acceptable source.
