This could very well be my new favorite Applejack episode. I don't want to go into details yet because it only just came out and some might not have seen it yet. I'll say more later. (to avoid spoilers) This episode was so much fun!
Who here thinks that something happened to Pinkie's original parents and she was adopted by the rock family.. She looks NOTHING like them...
I felt the episode was average, but I was distracted throughout a lot of it. I'll have to give it another watch to be sure.
Unquestionably undeniably the best episode ever! So much going on I don't know where to start, Pinkie the Jenga master, road trip, the scariest cave in equestria, apple rage, apple love, duck face, finally more Granny Smith, and Big Mac! So much Big Mac! Happy Mac, Sad Mac, Singing Mac, ANGRY Mac, inflatable inter-tube Mac, my fangirl squeal-o-meter broke. And that song! Been waiting for it, and now it's burrowed it's way into my brain, scooping out arithmesomethingorother with a melon baller, and has permanently fused itself, infinitely looping we're apples to the cooooore! It might be the thing that finally drives me bat poop crazy, but that's okay, its the perfect ditty to whistle while I run people down with a truck. Definitely sitting at the top of my list for favorite song, and the animation throughout it was just perfect. The whole episode was just perfect, it had everything, it was funny, touching, had ups and downs, and a crazy cat mare! All pretty amazing considering it was Natasha Levinger's first episode. I loved how, beyond the bit with Twilight and Spike at the beginning, that they didn't unnecessarily add any other ponies. Sometimes with these character driven stories, when they add in other members of the six, it kinda distracts a bit. The road trip gave and excellent excuse to keep the attention squarely on Pinkie and the Apples, for a much more intimate and effective story. Goes to show that you don't need all of the mane six in every episode .... but there is always room for Pinkie.
Okay ... I can't keep it in anymore. I have to fanboy about something in the episode ... Did you see what Applebloom did!? She nearly pulled off an in show Applelicious! *SQUEEEE!!!!* That just made my day! Too bad she didn't finish it but I loved that so much.
I don't know about you guys but this episode was just awful in my opinion. Pinkie was so annoying in this episode especially at the beginning (and I usually love Pinkie being random). The ending was unsatisfying, the song was pretty good but the animation was weird. It felt like the animation throughout the episode was a little weird, mostly with Pinkie. It did have the Applelicious moment, which I'm not gonna lie, I fanboyed so hard over, but this is by far my least favourite of the season so far. 2/10
Pretty good, for a filler episode. I get that they were going for some sort of lesson with the ending, but I would have preferred answers, one way or the the other.
I enjoyed it. Got a few D'awws and squee's out of it. I love how in film and TV the "put your best foot (or hoof) forward" scenario always brings out the worst in the characters. That, to me, is good comedy. And Pinkie's duck face... PRICELESS!
I actually liked this episode even though wasn't really expecting much from it because I was very bored with the Rarity takes Manehattan. But I actually thought it was really good and Pinkie was hilarious as usual. And the duck face. Omgsh. I lost it when I saw that and laughed for what seemed like a whole minute. I really liked the song too, which is kind of a strange thing since I really never care too much for any of the songs they put out there. I wonder if Pinkie is actually related to them. I think not, but it is fun to speculate. I would have liked to have answers though. >.>
I absolutely loved it. It gave some great character development for Pinkie and Applejack which tend to be lacking in the series, had plenty of hilarious moments (the fish being picked up by the eagle after grabbing the map, then later the duck being grabbed by the eagle when carrying the steering wheel, then seeing a flock of ducks which included one carrying a rolled up paper and another one with the wheel during the waterfall). Applebloom's song and dance did feel out of place, I didn't even realize it as the "Applelicious" nonsense since I'm not big on fan stuff like that. I think Big Mac is pretty great, sure the "Eeyup" thing is overdone, but at this point, that goes to show it's just how he is. Maybe he just thinks it's funny when he does it out of place (relation to Pinkie Pie could inspire this, I suppose), and it'd be great to see him talk more, but that's just not his character and it would be weird if he did. The song was fun, certainly not my kind of music, but definitely an enjoyable one, and while there was some weird animation during it, it still felt right, I dunno.
Just watched the episode, I don't get what people mean when they say the animation was weird. It seems pretty normal to me. could someone elaborate on this? Personally, i liked the episode. One thing that did make me cringe a bit was when applejack said something like "we need to show pinkie how awesome our family is" i don't remember the exact line, but the part where applejack says 'awesome' seems just a little out of character to me. I can't comment on the song cause i skipped it. I usually don't like it when they put songs in shows.
Pinkie = Awesome Big Mac was great. These two carried the episode. Golden Delicious = Crazy hoarder cat pony. This was hilarious! AJ & Applebloom = Confirmed worst mane 6 and CMC member. Bleh. I liked the song though. :3 After AJ's bossy nature in this episode and even Rainbow Dash calling her out on her crass personality last episode, jeez. Go back to the background where you belong.
Meh... It might just be my dislike for the apples, but it just wasn't very interesting. Who cares if they're related or not and the ending was predictable right from the first minute. Only good part's was Big Mac's attempt at conversation and Pinkie's duckface. The song was quite poor compared to the others this season with too much repetition. There was no depth to it, Just get from Point A to Point B with a few hiccups on the way and when the cave came up, I was hoping for some action or drama but nothing, just 5 seconds of silly sounds. looking at the comments, there seems to be very mixed opinions on what makes a good episode to people and how filler episodes like this one should play out. For me though, 2 out of 10.
I didn't notice this until Digi made a comment about it in his YT review, but did anypony else notice the similarities in Pinkies behavior and Golden Delicious'? Both have curly manes, unlike the rest of the Apples, both took the scroll/ book from the bottom of the stack, and Golden Dwlicious was shown to have been eating a gingerbread house for lunch.....strangely similar to pinkie's affinity for sweets
Anyway, this was one of my more favorite episodes so far, and definitely a step up from Bats as an AJ episode. While it doesn't really advance the larger plot - which some may deride as "filler", but what the hell do you expect with as many episodes as this season is getting - it contained great humor, great interaction between Pinkie and the apple family, and what I think is one of the best songs of the season so far. Laughed my arse off at the cave scene (the first moment in the entire history of the series to make me do so), as well as Bic Mac's continuously blocked attempts at saying more than two words...which, while funny, frustrated me at the same time.
Needed more Mane 6, but i guess it's not the first time we had an episode exclusively about one or two characters. In my opinion, it was a pretty boring uneventful episode, but damn that song was catchy. Also, loved that Applelicious reference. Anyone else catch Slendermane (Slender Pony) in the background of last night's episode? View attachment 7764 That right there is a huge part of what makes this show so awesome.
That was a very enjoyable episode for me. Lot's of funny moments and my so far favorite song this season.
