It had Discord, Cadance, a new location, a new creature, Twilight using her Alicorn powers against the aforementioned creature, yet another possible hint at a Starswirl/Discord connection, a ton of pop culture references, an awesome crystal train, a new kind of pony (Crystal Pegasus), and continuity with EqG in the form of Flash Sentry. However, I see what you're saying. It totally needed more explosions.
That's just it. In my opinion, it needed less explosions. We all know there's only one alicorn princess capable of serving as a Luna Lovegood cameo. :derpe:
Discord episode!!! This episode was fantastic. I love all Discord episodes and hope for many more, but this one was very funny. Also, Discord may be king of the trolls, but he did have a point in making Twilight prove her friendship. Sometimes our friends are annoying jerks that you want to strangle, but you still love them and take care of them when they need it. Course now I have the question in my mind of 'where does Discord live?' I vote he lives somewhere like this
Btw, has anyone else noticed Rainbow Douche in this episode again? > Element of Loyalty > Ditches her friends and leaves them with the god of chaos after promising Twilight not to let anything ruin her day.
I fear for me it's become too much of a good thing with Discord. *shrugs* Although yeah, Rainbow Dash is becoming worse every episode isn't she? AJ and Rarity were going to try to help until he got them sick. And since he was faking the whole time, he got them for real sick just to get them out of the way? His any means to an end wears on me as being a "likable" character. We all have that one friend like him and you know who we never invite to parties, right?

Yeah, I thought the douchebaggery of Discord was a little over the top... plus Rainbow Dash disappearing was really just... ugh, it makes it seem like she's only loyal to her friends when she needs to look good.
Am I the only one who noticed and found it hilarious that when Discord popped up in a hospital gown and turned around in front of the Mane...4..., Apple jack, Rarity, Pinkie, and RD averted their eyes or covered their faces, when his butt was in front of them? Discord ass. XD Nothing they've never seen before, all the times Discord was in front of them, wearing nothing at all.
Why all the ripping on Rainbow Dash? Yes, she left because she didn't want to deal with Discord, but none of the others wanted to deal with him either. They weren't in any danger, so why does she have to prove her loyalty by having her own day ruined? It's one thing to be there for your friends when they need you, it's something completely different to be expected to be at their beck and call. Also, Discord turned turned Rarity and Applejack blue, and made them sneeze. He did NOT make them sick, because his "contagious" Blue Flu wasn't actually real. They were both fine at the end of the show.
I was less concerned with RD turning tail and running and "not staying true to her element" since she's always seemed to be the one most distrusting of Discord anyway, even after he became reformed. But rather, i wondered why Rarity- being the element of generosity- seemed reluctant to offer her aid to Discord, especially after her whole Rarity takes Manehattan episode where she really showed her generosity off, to complete strangers, in fact. But...not to a friend in "need", when it comes to Discord? What was up with that?
Amen! Dashie had the right idea. You have to ask yourself, "Would I trust Discord either?" I, for one, would be reluctant too.
Rarity was at least willing to help, wheras Dash made a show of saying "NOPE" and flying away with her tail between her legs.
Discord is Fluttershy's friend, not Rainbow Dash's. If the annoying friend of one of your friends showed up at your door asking for an unreasonable favor, would you do it?
