I loved it. felt very season 1-ish. while I detest how spikes role is now problem maker, I did enjoy the Scottish sounding seabreeze, who was a very strong willed female character, and I enjoyed the note that twilight has been learning from the castle. and the new key intrigues me.
Sorry. Masculinity confirmed. You can even hear Fluttershy adressing him as "him" a couple of times. Another fun fact:
Breezies look like they took a Slenderman pony, slapped some paint on it and then shrunk it. Creepy. And then...they gave them Scottish accents. *cringe* And that Pegasus pony that helped make the breeze, the one with the blue hair and the pink bow, probably woulda been my new favorite background pony...if she didn't have Spike's voice. *double cringe*
I really enjoyed this episode. Until the end where it was revealed they lived in their own world or something I was wondering how Breezies could even exist. It reminded me of the screaming worm from the Simpsons. Twilight's transformation spell was also enjoyable. Next time a bad guys shows up, I'm expecting Twilight to turn Rainbow Dash into a dragon.
Yeah, the transformation spell really was... something. Remember when it took Twilight some great effort to just put some wings on a single Rarity back in season 1? Now she can fully transform 6 ponies at once without even breaking a sweat. Hmm...
Doctor Whooves and... Roseluck?! BIG Doctor Who reference in that episode. Doc in 3-D glasses. With Roseluck. I LOVED that part. I had a fan-girl scream right on the spot. But... The Breezies were annoying as heck. Of course, I have the old Gen. 2 and 3 pony figures. With the Breezies. But that accent for the Breezies was just unbearable. (Not the first to say that, but still. Neither for the 'Doctor Who' reference.)
Was I the only one that didn't find the Breezies' voices annoying? They're tiny, so of course their voices will be higher pitched. As for their language, it sounded like Swedish, but I'm probably wrong on that point.
I suppose it was...OK. They were cute and all, but the accent was so heavy I kinda got a bit annoyed.
I found that this episode was okay... It wasn't great. I loved the breezies and the small (pun DEFFINITELY intended) expansion on the universe. I was moderately entertained by the breezies' Swedish-like language and the leader breezies accent... I find Swedish accents attractive and I know it was supposed to be a guy but that was a very attractive female voice. I do think they kind of missed IU on their chance to make some hyper-adorable creatures and have it fit well. That being said, I DO like the design choices they made on them. Would have liked some way to tell male from female though. I didn't flip out nearly as much as I should have about the doctor who reference. My main thought was "did they really have to make it so blunt and obvious?" Anyways... This was just an ok episode. I feel kind of bad for spike this season. He's not getting enough attention and he's been working really hard... We need more spike. On another note, Rarity's dres was FABULOUS! It was so shiny and purple!!. I'd rate this episode an 8. It had a moderately good story and and a few great elements to it. ps: breezie dash is best breezie.
