I liked this episode. It's nice to see that the episode was less about the CMC trying to get their cutie marks than it was about them helping Troubleshoes discover the meaning of his. Also, I'm not sure, but I think that Troubleshoes might be the biggest stallion we've seen so far.
Looks like Sweetie Belle's magic lessons are starting to pay off also I find it funny how Braeburn is more accident prone than Thundershoes Clyde.
I liked this episode. Not a lot of flashy fan service and other hoopla. Just a solid story with a good moral. Overall: 7/10.
Continuing the tradition of bad CMC episodes whenever the topic is them obsessing over their cutie marks (or is it the tradition of episodes taking place in Appleloosa being pretty weak in general?), "Appleloosa's Most Wanted" is an all around weird episode. Being only the second episode after Princess Luna supposedly lied to their faces when she told them that there's nothing to worry about them getting their marks eventually, we meet Troubleshoes, the world's most unhappy stallion who lived most of his live resenting his cutie mark, at least until the CMC basically told him that "Hey, if your destiny is to be a clumsy fool, you might as well embrace it." Uhm, yay? Also, just when did the CMC become so insightful when it comes to cutie marks? Well, at least the episode shows that ponies can be unhappy with their lot in life after all, lending credibility to Starlight Glimmer's schemes, though that doesn't make it less of an odd episode in my opinion. And did anyone else notice Braeburn's injured leg switching sides when he and Applejack visited the Sheriff's office after the CMC vanished? Yeah... Well, if it wasn't obvious already, I didn't really enjoy this episode very much.
I kind of liked this episode too. It didn't exactly go how I thought it would when I first read the episode synopsis. But that tends to happen for me a lot I guess. I was actually glad to see that the criminal was not really a criminal and actually kind-hearted. It was kind of interesting to see the CMC help another pony, who was an adult, help them understand something about their cutie mark that wasn't what they originally thought. It was kind of cool to see the CMC help somepony that wasn't a filly or getting into trouble (for the most part anyway). I don't know what it was about this one, but I just really liked it. Yet another GREAT episode.
I was discussing whether Troubleshoes is a pony or horse with a friend, especially because I kept seeing people say he's a Clydesdale. The only thing that doesn't make sense with that theory is that the Saddle Arabians are also horses, yet I don't recall them having Cutie Marks. So my friend thinks that Troubleshoes is actually just a larger breed of pony (Fell Pony was mentioned, in particular), which would make sense considering he has a Cutie Mark.
Yeah, the design seems to be based on a Clydesdale, but I guess he's still supposed to be an earth pony, if an unusually large one, mostly because the Saddle Arabians (being obvious horses) don't have cutie marks. Come to think of it, isn't it odd how the only non-pony equines so far with cutie marks of sorts seem to be Zebras?
I quite enjoyed this episode. The CMC did the right thing to find Troubleshoes actual talent. People shouldn't judge by their outside look. That's why the Appleloosa ponies didn't like him. He's just basically had bad luck everywhere he went. Also, Troubleshoes seemed different from the other ponies. Hmmm...... Has anyone else noticed that there's been a lot of Derpy Hooves X Troubleshoes shipping latley? I can see why they make a good pairing. Because they're both clumsy.
Nope, I didn't notice (but then again, I'm not exactly looking for it), and I don't think Equestria could survive the combined clumsiness of Derpy's destructive butt and Trouble Shoes's... well... everything.
yay i can share my opinion. Ok in my opinion this is more unique then anything. We start in APPALOOSA!....s-sorry braeburn is one of my favorites..i ship him with lake anyway.. we start there for a rodeo and learn other rodeos were cancelled due to troubles. now i know that was cued to pin troubleshoes however, i think most of the rodeos might not be troubleshoes fault. it could be weather, not having enough equipment, or the town was in danger at the time. The CMC are mature here in some ways then others think. Sure they disobeyed AJ and BB but they learned troubleshoes is just a major klutz that wanted to be in the rodeo and hated his cutie mark. Now this is where i think its the most unique, and i can compare it to a bit of the cutie pox and bloom and gloom. in both said episodes AB either had talents she didn't like or was isolated by her friends. TS here had both a cutie mark he hated and was isolated. The CMC understood his problem. So they decided to make a positive out of his cutiemark and attempt to convince the town to let him make amends and explain that he wanted to join the rodeo. And in my opinion their punishment was acceptable. they did break the law however, to them i think it was worth it to see somepony see their cutie mark in a different light. Now how i can see this as unique is this. What if you had a destiny you didn't like but you had a talent in it? Some people would say to accept it and even though i would say its true but i would explain to them to think of it differently and how other people look at it.
