As a fan of Discord, I really liked this episode, although I found it kind of hard to watch. As others have said, it was interesting to see more of his powers and general life, as well as his personality, which really is chaotic; if he were anyone else, you'd probably say he was pretty broken, but all his personality flaws are just part of the kaleidoscope of emotions and attitudes that make up his chaotic whole; can they really be 'fixed'? I also thought that Fluttershy was slightly out of character; I mean, I get that Discord's actions were wrong, but as Discord's (one and only) friend, shouldn't she have known that he's still inexperienced with relationships of any kind, and realised how her actions might affect him? Personally, I also think Celestia's actions in this episode point to her being pretty unstable; If you think Discord livens up parties so much, why have you been keeping him as a garden ornament for the past millennium? Anyway, sorry if that was all a bit deep, rant over, I'll get off my soapbox now XD As a passing note, I think this episode's better if you think of it as Discord's Ocean's eleven style plan to heist all of Celestia's valuables; notice how he pulls them out of the Smooze and disappears them at the end? Clearly he teleported them back to his house, and everything else was just an elaborate distraction.
I really enjoyed watching the episode. Loved the jokes and the characters. I was just a bit "surprised" that despite all of the pop culture references they've thrown into the episode, they completely missed the opportunity to have Rarity say "He slimed me!" when she was covered with green goo. Oh well. Still, a really nice and fun episode.
