Frozen noticed the change in her voice and he stifled a small sob. He had hurt her, he could tell, but it was for the best. He couldn't do that to her or to himself.
She kissed his cheek lightly, and then nodded to herself. "Okay. That's it." She cleared her throat, and looked at him. "I'm going to see if we are allowed to move around yet, or if curfew is still in place. You are welcome to come, if you'd like, but I won't be long."
He nodded gently, clearing his throat and rubbing his eyes, "Okay," he said softly, "I'll come." As they started off, he said, "Please forgive me if I hurt you."
"No," he said, "I spoke without considering your feelings or giving you the opportunity to voice them. In spite of what I may have said, I'm starting to think that an eternity of guilt at denying either of us a chance at love would hurt more than sharing your brief life with you. I want to know, what should we do Rosy?" His eyes were full of tears, as he shook.
She was quiet for a moment, and then she turned to him. "In a hundred years, what will you be thinking?"
He smiled slightly, "For just a brief moment, my life meant something to somepony. For a brief moment I was whole. I got to feel mortal for one brief second."
Frozen blushed a bit, and then slipped his hooves around her. He leaned in and kissed her deeply, in answer.
Rosy was taken aback, and her eyes widened in surprise, but she quickly recovered, and kissed him back, her heart beating rapidly.
When he finally pulled away, he rested his head upon her shoulder. "I guess now you are my raft too," he whispered.
She allowed herself a small smile. "I'm alright with that." she said, her cheek lying on his temple lightly.
Frozen nuzzled her a bit, "I really am glad you came with me.." He truly was; after all this time, he finally found somepony who loved him. It was his first breakthrough in centuries, more than making up for all the failed attempts to find answers to his predicament. "I love you," he said, softly , meaning every word of it.
Rosy did not trust her heart very much. Last time she had thought it said that it loved someone, it had been with Ed, and he was only the most recent of many poor examples. She had grown to become cautious with feelings of love, romantic or otherwise. So she surprised herself immensely when the words flowed easily from her lips. "I love you too," she said, interested to find that she trusted herself this time.
A smile spread across his lips, "Come," he said, "We can cuddle later, but I remember you mentioning you wanted to see if curfew was over?"
She cleared her throat and nodded. "Yes. Curfew. Where might we go to figure that out, do you think?"
"We should probably locate a conductor or member of train staff. We are nearing ponyville so surely it will be lifted soon?"
"Right," she said at length, biting her lip in thought. "Well, maybe we should go back so as to not draw any attention." She gestured with a hoof. "unless you know where we might find one of those ponies?"
"Probably the engine room," he said, "But since we are arriving soon, do you want to go back to our cabin?"
