Hey Everypony! So, for my French class, I've been given an assignment to talk about something that interests me and to give arguments as to why it's awesome and why my peers should be watching/reading/playing/whatever. So I chose to talk about My Little Pony. I just wanted to know why you all enjoy this amazing show and all that jazz. What you say on here will be quoted and you will most likely be mentioned in my presentation. (If you wanna be 'anonymous' in all this, just let me know!) Thanks in advance everypony!
Don't forget most of the time, it has good morals. That's pretty important and mostly what sets it apart from other TV shows.
It's the only decent western animation/cartoon on T.V. right now. What else is there to say? Plus, like everyone else here as said, it's full of colorful cute equines. What else could you possibly want? :derpe:
Because it promotes strong moral values, but it's not afraid to deliver awesome action scenes when the situation calls for it. Very few shows manage to strike that delicate balance. The reason I never watched "Doctor Who" is because the moral values it tries to teach don't jive with the way the Doctor dispatches his enemies.
Feminism is pretty much baked into it all over the place, making it actually quite progressive. Almost all the main players in Equestria are female. All the mane characters are self-motivated and allowed to show off their personalities freely. Plus, it kinda scratches that heroine itch I've had for a while. It's not perfect but it's doing a lot that the other shows aren't doing but probably should.
What started as just a kids' show that parents could not only stomach but actually enjoy quickly evolved into a cultural phenomenon that brings a LOT of people together. The positive messages and sheer jovial tones throughout are great but what really sets the show apart is how dynamically and believably the characters are portrayed. I often find myself forgetting that they are indeed NOT HUMAN! Their personalities are somewhat rooted in reality, along with the obvious cartoon exaggeration, and because of that, viewers of all ages are able to relate to these unnaturally colorful little horses! XD
