(I can't decide ) Azure waited for the rest of homeroom to finish and then went to her next class, art. "Oh! I love showing off my creativity!"
Later on, Michio was in a history class. He already knew everything about the early Babylonians being discussed, so he opted to read a book during lecture, which hopefully would either go unnoticed or uncorrected today. His face was in The Hounds of Tindalos, by Frank Belknap Long.
Blaire's next class was music. She gave a small smile and entered the room. There was black piano in the corner, and she walked over to it. She was the only one in the class, being quite early. She looked around and sat on the chair in front of the keys. She put her hand on them, pressing lightly down on them. She then was still, but soon began playing Mozart: Piano Sonata in C Minor, K. 457. She watched over the keys as her fingers moved freely across the black and white notes. Spoiler: The song
Tommy got up, his next class was Math. He promptly entered the classroom, hanging in the back of the room, and attempted to stay awake throughout a boring lecture, rubbing the back of his neck.
Azure had gotten some paint over her as she was painting, but was pretty frustrated and then heard some one playing Mozart on a piano. Her and a bunch of other students looked around to see where it was coming from but snuck out of the class and found where it was coming from as she opened the door to the music room and saw Blair playing...and damn, was she good. She simply stood against the open door as she listened to the music and let it calm her nerves. "Just like a beautiful melody..." she thought to herself.
(I have decided that it will be a boarding school. This is getting more and more like Hogwarts as time goes on.. If you guys don't mind, I am going to skip to lunch, so that we can get settled in, and we can meet each other. Apologies, I am not very organized currently.)
Michio was the first of his home room to sit down. He didn't normally eat lunch, so he picked an empty table and took a seat. He wasn't against the idea of getting to know other students by any stretch of the imagination, but he would rather it be people from his home room, as they would be spending plenty of time together anyways.
Ruth entered the lunchroom, and looked for a place to sit. She knew that if she stood too long, she would get nervous, an if she got nervous, thunder would rumble. She spotted another student from her home room, and hurried over. "Hey, do you mind if I sit here?" she asked.
"Indeed I am," he nodded and smiled lightly. "You know, I've gotta say, your storm magic is... pretty incredible."
Ruth blushed, and looked down at the table. "Thank you. It would be better if I could control it." She lifted her head, and looked at Michio, cocking her head slightly. "So, what's the story behind your telekinetics? Like, how did you find out?"
He rubbed the back of his neck as he started. Sparing unnecessary details, he replied, "I may have lost my temper a little bit when I was thirteen, and furniture just sorta started moving. I find that keeping my mood under control helps me not accidentally... throw things around." He was embarrassed about how short his fuse used to be. Anymore, he almost never got angry. He was curious about her discovery as well. "What about you?"
Ruth shrugged slightly, obviously a bit embarrassed. "Er... Well... I kinda.." She put a hand to her temple. "I electrocuted my teacher." She looked up quickly. "She didn't die, or anything, but she was trying to push her beliefs onto the class, beliefs I didn't agree with, and she wouldn't stop, no matter how many times I asked her to. So, long story short, I got frustrated."
"It's alright," he said calmly, "I wasn't put here to judge." He chuckled slightly, "Sounds like we both snapped."
"I think most powers are stimulated by strong feelings." Ruth said, thinking carefully. "Passion is a powerful emotion."
"Yeah, you're right," he replied. "And hey, try not to be hard on yourself about control. That's why you're here, right?"
"I hope so." Ruth said. "It's really difficult. But I bet you already know that." She put her backpack on her lap. "Do you have a lunch?" she asked, pulling out a slim wallet.
"I don't normally eat lunch," he said. "That is kind of you though, so thank you. I'll admit, I'm not very used to people being, you know, this nice to me." He gave a warm smile.
Ruth smiled back. "Well, hopefully it will be better here. I think I kind of know how you feel." A skeptical look crossed her face. "Are you sure you don't want anything?" she asked. "Seriously, I mean, if we're living here, you'll have to eat at some point." Almost on queue, a rather gaunt man stood at the staff table. "Greetings, students, and welcome to your first day at HSE. Please, feast and be merry. Dinner begins at 5:00, so eat to sustain until then." He almost laughed, and then waved his hand, and slowly but surely, food appeared on the tables. Sandwiches, salads, soups, and other lunch foods popped into existence.
