"If you'd like to go to the nurses office, you can. It's down the hall, first door on your right. The rest of you, just practice some basic combat with the dummies." Stein flipped a switch, which turned the previously simple targets into sparring robots.
Venin gave a weak thumbs up, though he was clearly holding back tears. "I-I'm okay..." he murmured, lying rather poorly.
Sonya helped him up. "Are you sure you don't want to get that hand checked out? I'd feel really guilty if it gets worse and you didn't seek help."
"Ah, but it is just a few burns. I'll be fine, I promise... As long as I didn't get my face scarred! I didn't damage myself did I?"
Sonya looked closely at his face. "Nah, your face is fine. Would you like to try that again, or wait for the pain to go away?"
"Ah, let us just wait! Between you and me, this is also a good excuse to not actually have to do anything." Venin said, in a near-whisper. "Let the other students work, we can just watch!"
"You know what?" Venin asked, suddenly standing. "Let's practice anyways! We cannot let ourselves get dull! That is what a commoner does, and I am no commoner!"
