This isn't that big of a deal... but... I noticed that one of the smileys that was on the site before this change is no longer available. Admittedly I suppose I was the main one that used it, but, still. It's the Spike one. There was only one Spike one so that's really all I can do to describe it. You don't have to bring it back. It just seems strange that it's gone now.
They are still here, dude :3 You can use it by typing: : smile : (Without the space) There are plenty of those codes on the page.Just look for them in the Help page, located on the bottom of the page :3
I was leery of the new changes, but they're growing on me. I really like the fact that new posts stay visible as new until you read them.
Congratulations, you've managed to make the site look even more *squee!*ty than it needs to be. Look at it from the bright side though. It's less incentive for me to waste my time here.
September 2014 huh? Judging from your post count since you joined, slightly less than average involvement in the site. You clearly don't know me well enough to make a comment like that, newbie. Quite a few of it's good features were my suggestions to begin with. Not necessarily the features you're seeing now, but more the features you're not seeing anymore. The only thing i had no involvement in was it's poor choice of a few current admins, once again proven by their new forum style, which is probably the first significant (yet poorly chosen and pointless) design change they've made in years. Staff Online Now? Why don't you just call it "We're friggin watching you!"? because that's pretty much what you're saying anyway. Seriously, staff colors aren't enough to let people know there's a few staff people online? Gotta put a giant spotlight on it? Wow, 5 members not including myself on what used to be the most crowded friday night? Breaking some records there, EPR... What's your plan for fixing that? Mods are doing a bang up job moderating dupe threads placed right next to eachother over a month ago... Something i spotted in less than 2 minutes of viewing that particular forum. Ouch... Just ouch... (my login time is a big clue...) Now playing: No information available. I LOVE THAT SONG!! Good thing we have an admin on the job eh, DB? A moderator actually liked a comment that potentially breaks the rules bigtime... Wait, "LIKED??" Took the staff 4 years to bring back the like function. Better late than never, i suppose. :v They even added a basic "I'm better than you" list!! Toaster Repair Pony, consider yourself my god from now on!
I'm going to point out that the change wasn't intentionally in design. The change was in forum engine, because vB was essentially on its last legs. The UI change was a consequence of a transition to new forum software; notably, XenForo. There is actually an alternative theme available, but for some reason it has not yet been made public. It's much nicer in my opinion.
I've spent about a week observing this place before I logged back in. Now, I can truly see how dead this place has become and my suspicions have been confirmed. You can pretend it's not. You can pretend bronies are still relevant these days, but even the trolls don't care anymore. Why this site hasn't been closed yet so it's members can move on with their lives is beyond me. I respected Foxy once because he was willing to leave behind the website he loved to focus on the rest of his life, to which he said "*squee!* it, i'll be an admin again!". Tyro had so much potential to do the same, but he wasted that potential here. It's your choice to move on and leave this cartoonish crap behind to experience everything else your life has to offer, or stay here and waste it. Your non-conformist and idealistic choices are no longer considered a big deal. They're not even considered a small deal. Leave your life of non-relevant existance and do something with it besides running or otherwise participating in a fanbase forum you don't even realize has been truly lifeless and lacking true passion for at least months. Bronies are nothing anymore. This site is nothing anymore. If you people choose to keep this illusion up for much longer, trust me, you will be nothing. Is that your highest life expectancy? Get out there and do something other than pretending the "love & tolerate" crap still works! Leaving this brony crap behind me is the best decision i've made since i first joined, and I've had no regrets so far. If you still love what you're doing here, i won't get in your way, or you can come to your senses and join the real world. This place is a poison for every healthy mind.
We are not on vBulletin anymore, we have moved to XenForo because vB has become riddled with errors and bugs over the years. On xF this feature comes by default and is something that is on literally every xF board that exists. And yes, the mods are watching you, isn't that the point? lol But more seriously, I haven't really seen any good reason to turn it off, you're making a huge deal over nothing. I've never been able to fix that and it was there since GK or Yavos when it they created it back in 2011 or whatever. The Livestream API afaik doesn't update the song unless you are actually playing the stream. When you click play the song title will appear. Not added, again it's a feature enabled by default and is probably better off being disabled. Also, I like how your post edit history spanned 3 hours on that. Is there really nothing better for you to do? It is publicly selectable. At least, if it isn't anymore I didn't turn it off.
Not having hundreds of new members daily doesn't make a site dead. A site isn't dead until there is zero activity, or the site is taken down. I see neither of those things happening in the immediate future. It's not about attention, son. Being a brony is about being a fan of the show. Because you not liking it here anymore doesn't mean no one else does, or that the site needs to be taken down. Narcissist. >Assuming using this site implies we don't have lives outside the internet. Oh, and just to nitpick: That's not what life expectancy is. Not a fan of this hostility. If you no longer like it here, goodbye. Leave with grace. Not like this.
Woo! I'm a God! Seriously though, If you really think "Leaving this brony crap behind me is the best decision i've made since i first joined", then why are you back here criticizing it? Go "experience everything else your life has to offer", preferably somewhere far away from me. In an attempt to end on a positive note, I really like the new site, although I do kinda miss the shoutbox; it was so convenient, just sitting there right on the forum page.
Could you by any chance bless my toaster, mighty one? Yeah, that wasn't an awful feature. Maybe whenever they get this new chat outfitted with censorship, RP commands, and different rooms, a smaller version can go where the shoutbox was? That'd be pretty neat. I also miss the different skins from the AJAX chat. The dark theme was easier on my eyes.
