I just don't get it. Think back to Linkara's "History of Power Rangers". Linkara has criticized several episodes, and several seasons, but that doesn't make him any less of a Power Rangers fan. SFDebris conanantly criticizes "Voyager", but it's clear that SFDebris is a Star Trek fan. And Andre the Black Nerd criticized the new "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" movies despite being a huge Ninja Turtle fan. Because that's part of being a rue fan. Being a fan isn't about just gushing about the things you like, it's about criticizing about what you don't like and raising the questions that linger in your head. So, why do you keep asking me to only write positive things about the show? I don't mince words. I speak my mind. And that means,m if there's something about the show that I don't like or that confuses me, I come out and say it. That's what breing a true brony is about.
Because you're completely ignoring anything good about the episodes to focus on perceived flaws. These episodes are important to the fandom as a whole, and were loved by the vast majority of Bronies. Your overwhelming negativity towards these episodes isn't likely to endear you to the people that loved them. Basically... how'd you like it if I started pissing on everything you liked?
I was the only one here defending "The Mysterious Mare Do Well". I praised "Read It and Weep" for strengthening the friendship between Rainbow Dash and Twilight Sparkle. I said "Under Our Spell" is better than most modern music. I praised Fluttershy's actions in "Stare Master" and "Dragonshy".
Because they don't. If they disagreed with me while stil respecting my posts, that would be one thing. Calling my posts "toxic" and saying I'm forced to say only positive things about the episodes is an entirely different thing. And saying I only complain is flat-out slander, since as I already pointed out, I DO say positive things about the episodes.
There's a difference between fair criticism and ripping the episode a new a******. Like I've said a thousand times before, this is a show for children and should not be so heavily scrutinized by adults with adult expectations. We aren't the target demographic.
Fine, from now on, with all you as my witnesses, I swear never to say anything overly negative about an episode again. And this is a promise I intend to keep.
Don't worry too much. Most of us don't bite, we just want to play. And those who don't... well, they are usually pretty easily distinguishable by their frothy mouths.
Don't worry about it, we're just here to have fun and all that. About almost everyone on here is friendly. Yeah sure we have a little bit of fights. But that doesn't really happen a lot on here though.
All opinions are welcome, but that doesn't guarantee they'll be popular. As long as you can discuss your opinions while staying respectful of others, you're welcome here. Airship couldn't understand the "be respectful" part, and that's why he's no longer welcome on this forum.
All I know is that in this thread, exactly one person was being disrespected. And now he's banned. I've seen this setup before...
Airship isn't actually being disrespected here, but he certainly is being criticized. You would need to have seen a lot of the older threads he posted, not only in this section but also in General Discussion, to get the larger picture of why he's banned. People don't just get banned here for speaking their mind. When a person repeatably insults other members and blows discussions out of proportion using rude comments, that leads to their banning rather naturally. You can't see a lot of that in this thread, but it happened on numerous occasions.
This thread was on the tail end of Airship's downward spiral. Most of the hostility directed at him came from people who were tired of his nonsense by that point. Without going into too many details, let's just say it got pretty ugly at the end.
