X rolled her eyes, "Never heard that one before." She sat down by the table and messed with her claws. "Ghosts can't drink. No."
"Hmm, so what brings a Changeling and a ghost who can't drink to a tavern? A tavern with a Windigo and a Draconequus in it at that." Discord inquired, studying the pair.
Frozen mused at the pun his father made and set aside his empty tankard. He turned to the changeling, "I take it you had some part in the siege of Canterlot some time ago?"
Thorn sighed"Well remember that time when Queen Chrysalis tried to marry that one stallion. Well after the battle I managed to slip away into the many cave networks underneath Canterlot. Been living here ever since."
"And you didn't feel any compunction to return to your Queen? Curious..." Discord mused, stroking his goatee.
"Well yes actually." Thorn shifts around on his stool fidgeting. "All changelings have a telekinetic connection to the hive. But, lately I've been unable to reach out or receive a transmission."
X have an untrustworthy look. "Are you evil?" She got close, as if looking for the slightest hint he was lying.
Thorn grins and stares back at X. by now the pub is completely empty the only one left was the Bartender and the four at the counter. Then the pub door opens up and four royal guard stand in the doorway. "Hold it right there!" The first Guard ordered. "We got reported that a disturbance was in progress." The guards walk in slowly keeping their distance from the counter. The first guard (a unicorn) stamped his hoof.
X turned her head around like an owl. An irritated look spread across her face. She flipped her head back and slouched. "It's just the fun-busters."
Discord rolled his eyes and looked at Frozen. "I told you; news travels fast in this city." He clicked his talons, and all the guards found there hooves were glued to the floor. "There is no disturbance here; my friends and I were just enjoying a peaceful drink. If anything, you've caused a disturbance, bursting in like this. Shame on you." Getting a little more irritated, he conjured up a cage, unglued and floated all the guards inside, then locked it with an oversized padlock. "There, peace is restored."
Thorn morphed back into a changeling and stormed to the cage. His eyes glowed deep crimson. "We order you to release us at once!" the guard bellows his horn glowing and he shoots a magic bolt at the cage door. Thorn stares deeply into the unicorns eyes and the unicorn snaps to attention the other three follow suit. Thorn then mumbles something and a miasma covers the cage. The guards all collapse in a heap.
"You didn't kill them, I hope?" Frozen asked, calmly, "I doubt our standing, with the princesses, would improve much because of it."
X crawled over to the cage and stuck her head through. The rest her her was easy to get in, and she disappeared into one of the guards. The guards eyes fluttered open, except they were black with a white x for a pupil. He stood up, and a badly imitated version of the guards voice came from the possessed ponies direction. "Grr, I'm a lame guard that doesn't like to have fun! Nobody likes me!" This was obviously X joking around. She laughed and floated out of the body, and it fell and returned to the normal position of being passed out.
"Well we may need them if you want to get In to the castle." Thorn replied. He clicked his wings and the guard ponies rose, a slightly green hue in their eyes. Being a bug has it's advantages.
"Are you certain subterfuge is the best option? Father and I were merely going to enter the building's main sntrance."
Discord chuckled. "Oh I don't know; I always feel I'm on the back hoof when I visit the castle; might be nice to surprise Celestia for once."
