    Oni is an ogre/demon in Shinto mythology that are the guardians of hell. Basically they're tasked with making sure the damned stay in hell and enjoy beating them up and torturing them or something like that. Usually they're red or blue in color and carry massive clubs. You may have seen them when Goku fell to hell while running on Serpent Road in Dragonball Z.
