    Well, the usual plot has her getting beaten up, but then once her friends help her, she's unstoppable.

    Then again, I've missed a few episodes.

    Eight Star has about 600 years of training inside of a "Crystal's Dimensional Space" so that's part of what gave him the grumpy personality... and a lot of magical prowess! He has a much larger library of spells to choose from than Twilight, but she does have "raw energy" at her back.

    Still, she could never get the Elements of Harmony all together on beating him. Pinkie and Fluttershy are still kinda friends towards him, Rainbow Dash thinks he's fun... and that rainbow storm doesn't work with 3/6.
