"Pretty cool. I guess I'll hear you guys play next week at the showcase. Should be..." The doors to the lunchroom burst opened, and three girls that Nightshade had never seen walked in. As their leader started singing, Nightshade stood up and pointed to the door. "We should leave. Quickly. We're... uh... not in this scene." As the new girls continued their song, Nightshade headed for the exit.
Cherry: What'd she say? Blues: She says we're not in this scene. We're OCs remember so we're not canon. Cherry: ah, Gotcha! Let's roll. Cherry and Blues leave the canteen after Nightshade and head outside.
"So you decided to follow after all." Nightshade stood at the lunchroom window, watching most of the school go insane. She didn't even look at Blues and Cherry as they joined her. "I suppose that means you either trust the cryptic advice of a girl you just met, or you understand that something major is happening here."
Blues: Plot advancement! Cherry: what the heck's going on in there? Blues: Yeah, I thought there was a strict ban on random musical numbers in school.
"Look at them in there. Five minutes ago, everyone was happy. Now they're ready to rip each others throats out." Nightshade sighed. "I've heard the stories of what happened last fall. Girls from other worlds... demons... mind control... magic." She watched the new girls leave, leaving chaos in their wake. The only ones that seemed unaffected were the members of Rainbow Dash's band... the same girls that had been involved in the incident at the Fall Formal. "I don't think the weird dreams I started having around that time are a coincidence. I think this 'Equestria' place is starting to affect our world. And I think we're seeing one of those effects right now."
Blues: (looks in through the canteen window) What are you talking about NightShade? Cherry: (looks in through the canteen window) Looks like a riot's about to start in there!
Nightshade shook her head and smiled. "Nothing important..." Her smile broadened, and she pointed to the parking lot. "Hey, since we're already out here, and it doesn't look like it'd be smart to go back in there..." She pulled out her car keys, and continued; "...Whattaya say we blow this pop stand?"
Blues: Well I guess we don't really have anything better to do. Let me just call up Nyte and J Cherry: What about Dex? Blues: I don't think so. Not with Nightshade here around.
She led them to her car, a custom '49 Mercury four door sedan. "Tell 'em to meet us at the Sugarcube Cafe downtown. Or do you want to go pick them up?"
The trio ordered drinks and sat in the corner booth to wait for Nyte and J. Nightshade sipped her quintuple shot latte, watching out the window. "So... I never did get a chance to ask you about your band. What kind of music do you play?"
Blues: We play 80's style metal & rock mostly, although we do like to mess around and experiment a little.
"That's awesome. My dad listens to Eighties rock all the time." She laughed. "I had to learn to love it. It was that or go insane."
"Probably not. I think he did it to make sure I learned to love it." She shrugged. "Could have been worse. At least I learned to appreciate good music."
Cherry: Hehe yeah I guess there's that. Blues: I hope Moony and Co. are ok. Then again knowing them they'll be fine.
Nightshade shrugged noncommittally. She didn't know who Blues was talking about, and didn't want to interrupt his conversation with Cherry. She finished her coffee and returned to staring out the window.
Cherry: I'm sure they're ok. At that moment two guys walked into the cafe, one had dark blue hair and blue skin while the other was flesh colored with dirty blonde hair. Blues then gestured with a wave to them and they came over. The blue guy spoke... Nyte: Hey Blues, Cher. What's up dudes? Blues: Eh, not much. We just saw some crazy stuff at the canteen at school though, that's why we're here. Nyte: yeah man, I felt some bad vibes coming from there before we left.
