Maybe it's just you insisting for people to justify their personal preferences with cold, hard facts devoid of any emotional attachment. Talking to you is like talking to a robot with a crappy text parser who struggles with passing the turing test.
"Does not compute. Rephrase your answer."
"Does not compute. Emotions are irrelevant."
"Does not compute. Your opinion differs from mine, therefore yours must be incorrect."
It's a frustrating experience, and if you truly are open for discussion and maybe even for being convinced, you have a very odd way of showing that. In fact, while I'm not a big fan of the movie myself, I still find it difficult to be on your site here. It might be you, it might be me, I don't know. You may not believe me, but the introductory statement in my post wasn't meant as a personal attack, it was just me expressing my disappointment in how this potentially interesting thread developed. Look at us. Even now, we are not actually talking about the episode itself.
Why not? What is this topic about then? Is it for you to lie in wait for others to chime in with their opinions so you can pick them apart? It would definitely explain the lack of anything substantial in your opening post. And now, please explain to me once more why it never occurred to you that you come across as downright hostile at times. And we talked about you not listening to valid points in another thread before and I don't care much about repeating that unpleasant conversation here.

To everyone else, I'm still interested in what you have to say about Rainbow Rocks. And please tell me if I stepped over a line here after all.

I mean, even the title of the thread is suggestive of that.

I don't think you stepped over any lines; I think you said exactly what needed to be said.

Actually, I think the point your brought up about Twilight's conversation with Sunset Shimmer not seeming to immediately impact her awareness of her situation (not dropping the, ah, idiot ball, as you said) is a pretty salient criticism of the movie altogether. The crux of the plot is the mane characters coming together as a band and supporting each other, and while there definitely ought to be some sort of conflict, it seemed like the conflict was drawn out past the point where it might have normally been resolved.

I do find this point very interesting. And I agree. I still really enjoyed the movie but I can see this playing on someone's mind as they go 'OK, get on with it'.

Afteral, with a few re-writes, they could attempt to come up with some sort of quick-fix solution to create a band wide truce. Mainly between Applejack and Rainbow Dash.

Like...Ooo, how about a swear jar but for arguing. It's a few bits in the bucket for every minute they're gnashing teeth. You could get a decent scene where they're actively emptying their piggy banks just to afford to say what they want at each other.

That would be awesome. The writer's can have that one!

Alright, I think it's pretty blatantly obvious that Bot-Chan only came here to be needlessly hostile toward both me and the movie, so I'll just let him be.

...Seriously guys? I literally said this exact same thing at least twice, but now that someone else is taking your favorite scene and pointing out its flaws, you're all suddenly agreeable? None of you are playing the opinion card anymore? Suddenly criticism is a real thing that exists? Yeah ok.

Really? Come on Dulset! Come play! It's nice when you just shoot the *squee!* about this stuff. Just relax and have teh funz.

Because it's perfectly possible to both hold an opinion and see the opposing view if presented honestly. Please stop arguing with us and just relax. Let conversations flow, maaaaaaan.

...All right. When you're ready to join us, come on in!

Oh! How about this? Applejack and Rainbow Dash get so heated, they have a guitar battle to prove who's better? It fits the characters, fits the film decently as it's more music and stuff to do and, even better, BASS SOLO!

Ah, there's not enough Bass Guitar playing where it get's to shine.

How about the sirens just walk right into the portal to Equestria that Twilight left wide open, get their magic back, break the device leaving Twilight stranded, and take over Equestria? :D

    Uuhhh...Doesn't quite work.

As I understand it, in Pony Equestria, they haven't much of a chance and the Elements of Harmony are much easier to summon and wield. Not to mention Princesses and Discord.

In Human Equestria, they have a much better chance as they're the only magic creatures for miles.

However, this assumes that they know there's a portal back to Equestria. And that they would be able to harvest enough pony magic to get their powers then go back to do whatever.

As far as we know, the Portal to Equestria is decently hidden. I don't know if it's just left open all the time but...It doesn't stand out. It's possible it could go unnoticed.

Dude... between getting all their names wrong and all this, it makes me seriously question if you actually pay attention to the show and the movies :(
    This was all addressed.

    I can!

The mistake that Tyro made was attempting to have a conversation with somebody who has proven themselves to be almost completely irrational.
