Get creatiiiiiive! Just try and come up with an idea for a scene that you think would improve an episode of the show or one of it's movies! The best will get all the pocket fluff they can eat! I'll start us off. During Rainbow Rocks, the group could introduce a swear jar but for arguing. It's a few bits in the bucket for every minute they're gnashing teeth. You could get a decent scene where Applejack and Rainbow Dash are actively emptying their piggy banks just to afford to say what they want at each other. OK! GO!
A horse shows up in Ponyville. Not a magical talking horse... just a regular horse. Maybe Discord brings it there, maybe it's a spell gone wrong, maybe it's Sweetie Belle having magic troubles, but there's suddenly a horse in Equestria. Twilight quickly sends it back where it came from, but everypony is left standing around wondering what the hell they just saw.
At the end of Somepony to Watch Over Me, Applejack takes the time to actually explain why she was acting so completely divorced from reality throughout the episode. Bloom being able to stay home alone is obviously an important milestone in her growing up. It means that she's becoming independent. As Applejack is on her way out for the delivery, she realizes something. She's losing her baby sister. She's been taking care of her younger sister probably since about when she was born. Apple Bloom has always looked up to and depended on Applejack, but this decision to let her stay home is undeniable proof that Bloom just doesn't need AJ like she used to. That's why AJ returns, looking for any excuse to stay and take care of her sister. That's why she babies her and tries so hard to be needed. She's desperately clinging to a time when Apple Bloom depended on her, a simpler, happy time when they were inseparable. She can't imagine leaving that behind and letting her sister grow up, and grow away from her. This explains everything. And it makes Applejack out to be a much deeper and more relatable character. AND it's even heavily supported by scenes such as the opening where Bloom staying on her own is treated like a big deal. And we already know from previous episodes that while AJ is normally the most grounded and sensible of the bunch, she can suddenly become crazy and irrational when her family is the center of the problem. But it never actually comes up in the episode, so AJ just comes across as insane.
I think some of that was implied, but I'm gonna agree with you here. It would have been better if she'd just come out and explained it. It would have been a nice way to end the episode.
It seems to me more like the writers had this great idea of how the story would unfold... then partway through decided it was too complicated for kids to understand and instead went with "lol she just crazy". That potential side of the story starts out really strong, then taper off and by the end it's completely gone.
That's another possibility. It always bugs me when writers decide that a concept is "too complicated" for kids. Instead of dumbing things down, why not give them an opportunity to learn and grow?
Once the Tatzlwurm sneezes on Discord and makes him sick after Twilight and Cadence fought it off for the flower, the two princesses realize that the reason the wurm attacked them was because it was sick and had been living under the flower to alleviate its symptoms, and they tried to steal it. It wasn't just angry and attacking, it was suffering and defending its health. This is also after Discord had just revealed that he'd been faking the whole time. Now they have a choice, they can give the flower to Discord to cure his now-real illness, or use it to help cure the wurm of its own sickness. Naturally they choose to let Discord wallow in his well-deserved suffering, and help the wurm be happy and free. I very much prefer the early seasons' approach to violent conflicts, the ponies almost invariably pacify the dangerous creature (or if all else fails, simply flee) while all attempts at violence only cause more problems. It was very disheartening for me to see the princesses of love and friendship blast this mindless violent creature into submission with lasers without even trying to stop it any other way, when previous episodes show that manticores, dragons, a cerberus, even Discord can be stopped from a rampage if given the chance.
I actually prefer the approach taken in the later seasons. It just seems more realistic to me. Well, as realistic as magical talking pastel horses can get. It seems to me that when you're facing down a giant creature that's trying to murder you, befriending it would be the farthest thing from your mind. Alicorns are powerful. Twilight and Cadence were in danger, so they used that power. Plus, with Cadence, you have to remember her history. She committed genocide in her first episode, and murdered a king and usurped his throne in her third episode. Cadence is friggin' brutal, man.
After being blowed to smitheroons by the Elements after she miscast Starswirl's lost final spell, and finds herself in a metaphysical plane of mind and spirit, Twilight does not encounter Celestia, because that would be ridiculous and make no sense whatsoever. Instead, she actually encounters Starswirl the Bearded. Thousands of years ago, Starswirl had attempted to write a spell to manipulate the Elements, but without a true understanding of friendship it went horribly wrong. The Elements cast him into a timeless expanse of emptiness and reflection for eternity, as punishment for attempting to take power over friendship. When Twilight arrives, he explains his fate and that she is also trapped for eternity. Over time, Twilight ignites a spark of friendship in Starswirl's heart and persuades him to work together with her to try to escape. Perhaps he even sees snippets of her adventures on those mind-screens, and is reminded of his own youth. Their combined magic and friendship are able to breach the dimensions and bring them back to Equestria. Twilight doesn't become an alicorn, but she does return Starswirl to Equestria, thousands of years displaced from his time. Celestia had known of Starswirl's fate, and naturally arranged things so that Twilight would be able to rescue him. It even fits in with her sentiment that season about gathering powerful allies like Discord. It would add far more to the show than Twilight becoming a princess did, and say much more about her character and understanding of friendship as well. Having Starswirl around would be able to pull in much greater worldbuilding by having direct knowledge of events millennia ago such as the founding of Equestria, as well as possibly the greatest understanding of magic in the show. Twilight would have a new mentor figure, one specifically geared toward magic which she's never had before. We would also get potentially fantastic interactions like Starswirl meeting Discord and having to reluctantly treat him as an ally.
How about in one episode they put their Bits together and it creates a Bronycoin This could also directly relate the the project I'm working on, and make it bigger than Dogecoin, For Bronycoin I was thinking at first 100 million pegasisters should create 1 Bronycoin, but it does make more sense to have the sub units called Bits.
You've told me how you feel about Cryptocurrency but I think you could learn more before making judgement, I don't see how my story is advertising, it would be cool in an episode if we wish to compete with the doge meme, I'm not here to sell anything! once the currency is created for us Bronies, I'll be giving away coins for free to forum members.
If the show acknowledges Bronies to this degree, then the limit of pandering from the show writers has been breached and a ungodly storm of rage and infighting will encompass the fandom. Also, please keep the advertising of your currency to your thread. Anyways, I know this would never happen but I'd like see a scene where the get real deep and ponder the reason for their existence. And we all know Pinkie will at one point propose that maybe they are just there to sell toys, most of which aren't even featured in the show. Then they will laugh, joke about it, and never mention it again.
This makes sense, maybe it would be better placed in a fan made episode.. hell maybe it will even fund some lol
