The Changeling Hive [Group RP]

Shade walks about the hive tunnels taking stock of the changelings at work. Her eyes glowing a faded green. Her eyes and hearing enhanced by adaption and gene splicing. She has the changeling night vision normal ponies don't have. She keeps an eye on everything and makes sure that everypony is working and not slouching. Her report will go toward their records if any do. Chrysalis will be proud to know that the productivity is up today. Everypony is as busy as can be.

 

Shade heard her hive mind gift speak as a unfamiliar pony looked to be traveling the barren tunnels toward them. The pony looked lost. She smiles deviously and walks in the pony's direction. She wonders what a pony was doing in the great hive of her Queen.

 

Shade soon saw Thunder and her smile only got bigger. She approaches Thunder fearlessly and her glowing green eyes will be off putting since she is a pony and not a full blooded changeling. She stop a few feet away, knowing that Thunder would see her glowing eyes form that distance.

 

Shade then giggles. "You're looking for my Queen? Well that would explain a lot." The lack of buzz in her voice would suggest her to be pony yet her eyes glowed green like a changeling. She smiles in the dark knowing that Thunder could only see her eyes. "My name is Shade. I'm her personal assistant in communications between changelings and ponies, as well as the hive dungeon mistress~"

 

Shade giggles. "There is no need to fear me. I mean you no harm. Besides, I'm off duty at the moment as dungeon mistress." She says with a smile. She summons a ball of light to light up the tunnel. The light shows that she is indeed a pony. Her fur is pitch black, her eyes are green and normal looking in the light, her mane is a deep purple with a part of it covering one eye, and her purple tail drags on the ground. She looks to be wearing a green choker with black studs. On her back is a green cloth connected to a black corset and saddle bags on either side. She has a devious but warm smile on her face, and she giggles more. "Follow me to the throne room."

 

Shade nods, understanding Thunder's plight. "I was like you once when I was really young. Before my Queen spliced me with some of her changeling DNA, I couldn't find my way worth beans. I learned to depend on my hive mind gift as I adapted to the tunnels. When she spliced me, it gave me the ability to see in the darkest places of the hive. I owe everything to my Queen..." She says sounding a bit somber as they walked through the tunnels. Shade breezes through tunnels showing that she knows them all well, where each one goes. As they got deeper, changelings were much more abundant and they stared at Thunder as Shade escorted her.

 

Shade walks her to a opening which is bright. It's a huge room which is well lit and bright. Shade's ball of light fades away and she goes up to Queen Chrysalis before bowing to her. "My queen, I found a pony on your tunnel's asking to speak with you."

Chrysalis raises a brow and she nods. "Very well. Stay at my side and give me the progress report when this is done." She then looks to Thunder, motioning her to come forward. "Come. You have my ear, pony."

 

Shade looks to Chrysalis. "Is this true my Queen?"

Chrysalis looks closer at the pony before her. "Ah, That right. My apologies, I have been swamped with my duties. I've had to have my assistant Shade cover for my usual rounds for the progress report. In anycase, I do have something for you to do." She then looks to Shade.

Shade nods and smiles. "It has recently come to our attention that one of our own rogue merchants have gone and start leaking our trade secrets. My queen asks of you to bring this pony here to be assimilated in the Deep Hive. His transgressions will not be tolerated." She says, handing a scroll to Thunder. "This paper will hold an image of the accused and information to find this merchant during his rounds." She then sighs. "I'd do it myself, but my Queen needs me here. Her changelings need to be micromanaged today and it'll take both of us to be sure the hive construction is going as planned."

Chrysalis then sighs and she shakes her head. "That is quite enough, Shade. Let Thunder be on her way."

Shade nods. "As you say, my Queen" Shade steps back.

 

Chrysalis then sighs. She knew this day would come. She knew that it would lead up to this. "Your father was one of my own before he went rogue. You see, your half changeling. As for why you cannot hear me, you were never taught to fully use your hive mind gift. The other part is this." Chrysalis then uses her magic. "A magic barrier on her mind was broken. "You were given a barrier to your mind to protect you from my thoughts. You should hear me fairly well now. Though while you are here in the hive."

Shade just watches and she smiles. "I knew something was interesting about you. My connection with her hive mind told me you were gifted but I just thought at first it was your pony thought patterns, not detecting the gift."

Chrysalis nods. "Unicorn magic is crafty. I'll admit that Unicorn and Alicorn magic has my kind beat when it come to barriers of certain kinds. But our magic is still rather powerful I assure you."

Shade hops around. "I wonder if your friend should under go my same treatment."

Chrysalis then shakes her head. "No. Thunder already has the innate abilities. They just need to be properly awoken."

 

Chrysalis then sighs. "Close enough. You are in some way one of my childern. One of my kind. But the other part of a race I've took advantage of and feed upon got ages. It makes me wonder if I was making a mistake with forcing a pony's love but I then shake it off." She says somberly.

Shade then looks to her Queen. "My Queen? Are you alright?"

Chrysalis then sighs and nods. "I'll be fine. You know Shade, I feel happy know that you are not mind controlled but were will to accept me and my kind as your family."

Shade then nuzzles Chrysalis. "You all are family to me no matter what. Your friend Thunder can be family too... if she wishes."
