ace frowned but nodded "i think i can hack the system to only shoot who we say but it will take at least a week......and we should defenetly clean up the place" he said as he looked around "and gather up all the supplies to the basement in the shelter there" he said figureing a hospital this size would have something like that
"That's great! Thank you!" She said, hugging him. "I never knew you were good with computers, is that something else that's come back to you?"
he nodded "when i was being shot at by a turret i remembered....i also remembered im one of the best hackers of the army" he said smileling letting his ego get the best of him for a few seconds, knowing he disurved the right to after almost getting killed for most of the day "so....wanna start at the top floor and work our way down?" he asked "i can collect ponies to be buried and you can get the medicen...then we can work on getting the crane off the roof and patch it up" he said already constructing a plan (ha....constructing.....crane) he thought not truly knowing why he thought that funny
"I think that's a good idea," She agreed, nodding. "I'm not sure we'll find any bodies though." She said, thinking. "This is a medical facility, and the ponies here would have known the importance of hygiene; they would have burned their dead in the incinerator in the basement. The fact that my mother's remains were still there probably means she was the last pony to die." Max looked a bit sad, thinking about that, but she kept talking. "We should work on getting the building secure, and taking an inventory of what's here." She said, decisively. "Then we can work on cleaning this place up, sorting out the security, and maybe getting the power back on." She nodded to herself, happy with her plan.
ace nodded before hugging her "im really sorry about your mom" he told her before letting go and leading her to to the stairs
Max sighed as they started climbing the stairs. "It's okay, I think. I kind of always assumed she was dead, I just never really knew for sure. It's just important to me that I carry on her work, help the ponies she couldn't."
"do you want to bury her or cremate her?" he asked as they kept climbing (jeeze five stories, not including the basement, is going to take forever to clean up) he thought as they went past the third floor
"I-I hadn't really given it much thought..." Max said, truthfully. "Probably cremation; I'd always kind of imagined she'd been turned to ash, so it seems fitting." She decided she'd keep the coat though; it reminded her more of her mother than any urn ever would.
ace smiled as they got to the fifth, and top, floor "i would prefure that with me.....much better then rotting in the ground waiting for the vultures and coyotes to dig me up" he then looked left then right "you go left and i go right and we meet back here with the meds?" he said taking the side where the crane crashed thru so he could check to see how they could get it off the roof
"I think this floor is just general patient rooms," Max said, looking at the signs on the wall. "But there should be a pharmacy somewhere. I'm just going to make a list of what we've got though; I don't want to be carrying around heavy boxes for no reason." She picked up a clipboard and a pencil from the nurse's station, and headed off.
ace nodded and did the same but took two clipboards ace went thru each room making a list and grabbing some of the smaller items like the stempacs and med x and bought them with him till he got to the crane he then started to draw it and point out supporting joints and where to cut once he was done he went back to checking supplies
Max had found the pharmacy, and taken note of the supplies; on this floor alone, there were more meds than in her Stable's clinic. They must have been restocked just before the bombs fell... Looking around the other rooms, her prediction was proved correct; there were no bodies, only dust and debris from when the crane smashed into the building. As she was searching, she also noticed little metal doors, about knee height, in all the rooms. Access hatches, for cleaning robots. She smiled to herself. Now if we can only get the power back on... She went to find Ace.
"A drawing of the crane" he said with a smile as he turned it to her "I'm trying to figure out how to get the crane off the hospital"
"Hmm... maybe we could cut it up?" Max suggested. "I think there were some metal saws at that construction site, where the crane fell from. Maybe we could use the metal for defences or something?"
"i was thinking that....but thats for later" he said before looking up at her "did you happen to find a service elevator? cause if we can find it i think i could get it running and that would make it easier to bring the supplies down to the basement" he said standing up
Max nodded. "I did. I also found out this hospital had an automated cleaning system. This place must have been fitted with all the newest technology..." She said, staring into space as she thought of the possibilities. She shook herself back to reality. "Ahem. Yes, I believe turning the power back on should be our main priority. We should probably explore the basement, see if we can figure out what's wrong..."
"This is a lot easier than climbing," Max commented as they passed the third floor. "So, any more memories?" She asked, looking at Ace.
